Meet Muhammad Ameen “Deedat” Midtimbang Abbas 💚

Meet Muhammad Ameen “Deedat” Midtimbang Abbas, a dedicated public servant and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC-BARMM). In this role, he contributes to the development and improvement of the Bangsamoro’s maritime, land, and air transportation systems, as well as initiatives aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure and connectivity across the region.

He also serves as a Commissioner of the Bangsamoro Telecommunications Commission (BTC), contributing to regulatory efforts that promote better telecommunications, internet connectivity, and broadcasting services in the Bangsamoro. Beyond his government responsibilities, Deedat is actively engaged in community initiatives and youth development, including supporting local sports programs and grassroots activities that bring communities together.

As the 24th Nominee of UBJP, Muhammad Ameen “Deedat” Midtimbang Abbas brings his experience in transportation, communications, public service, and community engagement to the continuing pursuit of a more connected, progressive, and inclusive Bangsamoro. We condemn, in its strongest terms, the killing of Sandy Boy Blah Odin, also known as “Bashte Masukat.” Such a violent act has no place in BARMM or in any civilized society.

He was a member of the Cotabato City’s Traffic Management. He has served the public while enduring the heat and braving the traffic violators’ ires. As Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and Chairman of the Deputation Committee for Law Enforcement Agents, I am saddened by the loss of a dedicated public servant who has aided us in ensuring safe transportation in the city.

We call on the concerned authorities to conduct swift and impartial investigation and ensure that the perpetrators be identified, prosecuted and punished.

We extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends left behind by Mr. Odin. May Allah SWT give you more strength, patience, and peace during this time.

Deputy Minister Muhammad Ameen M. Abbas attended the turnover ceremony of two pick-up trucks awarded to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications - BARMM under the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of Member of Parliament MP Haron M. Abas.

The 4x2 vehicle will be used by the Civil Aeronautics Board of the Bangsamoro to support its regulatory and monitoring duties while the 4x4 vehicle will be assigned to the MOTC Engineering Division to enhance field operations, inspections, and infrastructure activities, particularly in hard-to-reach areas across the region.

As the blessed month of Ramadhan begins, we are reminded of the true meaning of sacrifice, humility, and unity. This sacred month is not only a time of fasting, but a time to strengthen our faith, deepen our compassion, and stand together as one Bangsamoro.

Let our prayers be sincere, our hearts be gentle, and our actions reflect the values of mercy and brotherhood that Islam teaches us. In every sacrifice we make, may we find strength; in every act of kindness, may we find unity.

اللهم اجعلنا من أهل الصيام والقيام
Allahumma aj‘alna min ahlis-siyam wal-qiyam
(O Allah, make us among those who truly observe fasting and prayer.)

May this Ramadhan renew our commitment to peace, justice, and solidarity as we remember our brothers and sisters in Palestine, and the entire Muslim Ummah around the world who continue to endure trials with patience and unwavering faith.
