COTABATO CITY โ The Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT) strengthened its commitment to workplace efficiency, discipline, and effective teamwork as its personnel participated in the Training on 7S Methodology in the Workplace and Effective Workteam held on Aug. 25โ27 in Davao City.
Facilitated by the Development Academy of the Bangsamoro (DAB) through Training Specialists Said I. Abdulkasan and Hussein A. Abo, the three-day training aimed to enhance participantsโ understanding and application of the 7S methodology while developing stronger teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement in the workplace.
During the opening session, Atty. Fatmah Zahra C. Amil, CPA, Acting Director of the Finance and Administrative Services, emphasized that an organized and efficient workplace is essential to delivering quality public service.
โDelivering quality services always begins with our workspace. Implementing 7S and Effective Workteam is more than just organizing physical files and desks, it is about building a culture of discipline, culture of efficiency, operational excellence and accountability within our ministry,โ she said.
The training covered various topics, including the overview of 5S, the 3S components Seiri, Seiton, and Seiso, the 2S components Seiketsu and Sh*tsuke, and the application of Kaizen and continuous improvement. Participants also explored Private Victory Habits for Effective Workteam, Public Victory Habits for Effective Workteam, renewal and sharpening of workplace practices, and the norms of conduct of public officials and employees.
Beyond the technical concepts, the training provided an interactive learning environment where facilitators Abdulkasan and Abo led engaged discussions, encouraging participants to share experiences, join activities, and reflect on how the lessons could be applied in their respective offices.
For participant Shuhaibel Bago, the training was both informative and enjoyable because of the active engagement between the facilitators and participants.
โThe training was actually fun kasi thereโs an interaction between the facilitators and the participants, hindi talaga siya nakaka-bored kasi nga may interaction,โ he shared.
Meanwhile, Bai Shencky Mantil highlighted the importance of continuing the learning beyond the training room and bringing the lessons back to the workplace.
โI-continue natin โyung learning natin pagbalik natin sa office,โ she said.
Closing the three-day activity, Chief Administrative Officer Nur Jameel Macacua underscored the importance of continuous learning, particularly for public servants.
โSeeking knowledge is very important. It is part of us and part of our religion,โ he emphasized.
The training served as an opportunity for MTIT personnel to strengthen not only their individual workplace practices but also their collective responsibility toward building a more organized, efficient, accountable, and collaborative ministry.
MTIT expresses its gratitude to the Development Academy of the Bangsamoro and its training pool for facilitating the training and providing the ministryโs personnel with valuable knowledge and practical tools that can contribute to improved workplace performance and quality public service.
Through continuous learning and the commitment to apply these principles in the workplace, MTIT will continue to foster a culture of discipline, efficiency, teamwork, and excellence in service to the Bangsamoro.
