Pursuant to Proclamation No. 227, series of 1998, proclaiming March of every year as National Women’s Month, the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) joins in celebrating and advancing gender equality in our nation.

With this year’s theme, “WE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society,” the Ministry stand united in promoting equal rights, equitable access to resources, and fair opportunities for all—across every community in the Philippines.

Together, let us build a society where everyone—regardless of gender—can thrive, lead, and succeed.

LOOK: Women from various sectors convened at the KCC Mall Convention Center in Cotabato City on Feb. 2, 2026, in observance of World Hijab Day 2026, led by the Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC).

Themed , the event highlighted the hijab as a symbol of faith, dignity, and solidarity among women of diverse cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds.

The event featured solidarity messages from Bangsamoro leaders, women advocates, and partners, along with a hijab donation turnover to selected orphanages and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among the BWC, Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), and United Youth of the Philippines-Women (UnYPhil-Women).
