LOOK] TRAINING ON GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT MAINSTREAMING AND THE HARMONIZED GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT GUIDELINES (HCDG)

Mainly, the 2-days training aimed at improving the Gender Mainstreaming in the implementation of programs, projects and activities of the Ministry; and HGDG.
It was facilitated by an external trainer, a gender specialist and a member of the Resource Pool of the Philippine Commission on Women.
The following topics were thoroughly presented and discussed:
1. Introduction to Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) to help the participants increase understanding on the processes and context of gender mainstreaming within an organization or agency; help them acquire a holistic view of the (gender) mainstreaming process; and guide them in assessing their progress in gender mainstreaming.
2. Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines to help participants` recognize concepts and tools developed for integrating gender concerns into programs and activities, to ensure that programs and projects to be carried out are gender responsive.
3. Brief Orientation on GAD Planning and Budgeting process to properly guide the participants on the elements and process of planning and budgeting.
4. Group workshop on GAD Planning and Budgeting for 2024
5. Presentation of responsive GAD Plan and Budget- each sector has presented their Plan and Budget for 2024 that reflects how they will address gender issues and concerns in their respective sector or division.
