The MOTC-BARMM extends its deepest sympathy to the families and residents of Barangay Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi who suffered losses when a fire swept through their community on February 3, 2026. Families were forced to leave behind homes built over years of sacrifice, and many are now facing the uncertainty of starting over after losing what once grounded their daily lives.
In this time of hardship, the Ministry stands in solidarity with the Municipal Government of Bongao, the Provincial Government of Tawi-Tawi, and the wider community as relief, recovery, and rebuilding efforts continue. The Ministry remains committed to coordinating with concerned agencies to support rehabilitation efforts, including ensuring the safety, accessibility, and continuity of transportation and communication services in the affected areas.
We are also mindful that some of those affected are employees of the MOTC-BARMM. To our colleagues and their families, please know that your hardship is seen and your loss is deeply felt. The MOTC and all its Sectoral Offices, including BAA, CABB, BLTO, BLTFRB, BPMA, BMARINA, and BTC, stands with you through this difficult period as you begin the work of rebuilding.
As Barangay Lamion moves forward, our thoughts and prayers remain with its people. May Allah (SWT) grant strength, patience, and comfort to every affected family, and may the community find resilience and unity in the days ahead.
