𝐌𝐁𝐇𝐓𝐄 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤-𝐎𝐟𝐟

The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) joined educators, education leaders, and stakeholders from across Mindanao in the 2026 National Teachers’ Month (NTM) Kick-Off Program held on September 5, 2026, at the Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro City.

With this year’s theme, “Teacher, Ikaw Naman,” the celebration shines the spotlight on the teachers who tirelessly serve, inspire, and shape the lives and futures of our learners.

Under the leadership of BARMM Chief Minister and concurrent MBHTE Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua, the Bangsamoro was represented by 200 teachers and education personnel from the region’s Schools Division Offices, who took part in the celebration.

To all our teachers across the Bangsamoro and the Philippines, maraming salamat sa inyong serbisyo, dedikasyon, at pusong laging inuuna ang kapakanan at kinabukasan ng ating learners.

Kayo naman, teachers. This is your moment. Saludo kami sa inyo! ❤️

Nakapaghatid ang MBHTE ng 200 student armchairs sa Hadji Datu Abubakar K. Pendatun National High School at Kyamco Elementary School upang makatulong sa pagpapabuti ng kanilang mga pasilidad sa pag-aaral.

Patuloy ang mga inisyatiba upang masuportahan ang edukasyon sa mga komunidad ng Bangsamoro.

𝐌𝐁𝐇𝐓𝐄, 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐅 𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), together with national government agencies and education stakeholders, continued the Technical Preparatory Workshop for the Inaugural Meeting of the Bangsamoro Education Coordination Forum (BECF) on September 4, 2026, in Quezon City.

Building on the discussions from Day 1, participants worked toward consolidating the evidence and technical inputs needed to support informed decisions by the BECF principals. The sessions focused on harmonizing the evidence base and shared targets for education in BARMM, including available data, baseline indicators, information gaps, and priority areas for joint monitoring.

The workshop also examined priority education programs in terms of implementation, funding, reporting, accountability, and coordination arrangements. Participants developed initial recommendations on issues requiring inter-agency coordination and those that may need executive-level action during the inaugural BECF meeting.

The final sessions focused on designing the BECF’s operating architecture and drafting its initial rules of procedure, coordination mechanisms, working arrangements, and monitoring and reporting processes. The workshop concluded with the validation of the technical package, identification of next steps, and preparation of materials for endorsement to the inaugural BECF meeting.

Through this collaborative effort, MBHTE under the leadership of Interim Chief Minister and Concurrent MBHTE Minister Abdulraof Macacua, its national partners continue to strengthen the mechanisms that will support more coherent, responsive, and effective education delivery across the BARMM.

𝐒𝐢𝐱 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐅 𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

As part of the Technical Preparatory Workshop for the Inaugural Meeting of the Bangsamoro Education Coordination Forum (BECF), the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), national government agencies, and education stakeholders worked through six thematic Working Groups to examine key areas of education coordination in the BARMM.

The Working Groups brought together technical expertise across the education continuum, allowing participants to examine specific concerns while contributing to a shared coordination framework:

𝐖𝐆 𝟏: 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 - focused on ECCD, maternal and child health and nutrition, supplemental feeding, and ECCD health and development screening.

𝐖𝐆 𝟐: 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 - examined curriculum, Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE), textbooks and learning resources, Madrasah education, Alternative Learning System (ALS), Indigenous Peoples Education (IPED), and medium of instruction.

𝐖𝐆 𝟑: 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 - addressed school-based feeding, inclusive education, school safety, mental health and well-being, anti-bullying, and learner health screening.

𝐖𝐆 𝟒: 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 - tackled classroom infrastructure, Last Mile Schools, private education assistance and voucher programs, the Special Education Fund, Local School Boards, and School Governance Councils.

𝐖𝐆 𝟓: 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - focused on teacher supply and deployment, teacher education and development, teacher professionalization, and the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) Program.

𝐖𝐆 𝟔: 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥-𝐕𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 - covered universal access to quality tertiary education, the Philippine Qualifications Framework, Senior High School pathways, certification and assessment, lifelong learning, Enterprise-Based Education and Training, Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program, and the Presidential Merit Scholarship Program.

Together, the six Working Groups provided a structured space for agencies to map existing programs, identify implementation and coordination gaps, harmonize available evidence, and develop technical recommendations for consideration by the BECF principals. The work reflects the broader direction of the Bangsamoro education system toward stronger coordination, evidence-informed decision-making, and more responsive education services for learners across the region.

The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), together with key national government agencies and education stakeholders, began the Technical Preparatory Workshop for the Inaugural Meeting of the Bangsamoro Education Coordination Forum (BECF) on September 3, 2026, in Quezon City.

Supported by the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II), with funding support from UNICEF Philippines and the World Food Programme (WFP), the workshop brought together representatives from DepEd, CHED, TESDA, PRC, TEC, DBM, DOJ, COA, CSC, DILG, DOH, DSWD, UniFAST, ECCD Council, NNC, UPM-NIH, PEAC, Synergia, MILG, MOH, MSSD, and MBHTE, among others.

Day 1 focused on establishing a shared understanding of the BECF, its mandate, objectives, governance arrangements, and role in strengthening coordination between the National Government and the Bangsamoro Government.

Participants examined the legal, fiscal, governance, funding, budgeting, reporting, and accountability arrangements affecting the implementation of education programs in BARMM. Discussions also mapped the education coordination landscape, identifying areas of overlap, gaps, and opportunities for stronger inter-agency collaboration.

These discussions provided the technical foundation for the succeeding workshop sessions, particularly in consolidating evidence, identifying priority coordination issues, and developing recommendations for consideration by the BECF principals.

The initiative supports the commitment of Interim Chief Minister and Concurrent MBHTE Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua to advancing a quality, accessible, inclusive, and responsive education system toward a Mas Matatag na Bangsamoro.
