𝙎𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙬, 𝙎𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙡𝙙 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚.

October is officially the 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘄 (Presidential Proclamation No. 273). With their populations critically endangered (IUCN), raising awareness is our first line of defense.

Protecting the Tamaraw means protecting the rich biodiversity of the Philippines and supporting the indigenous 𝗧𝗮𝘂 - 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘆𝗮𝗻 communities who share their ancestral domain.

This Tamaraw Month, let’s honor the rangers, conservationists and local communities working tirelessly on the ground at Mounts Iglit - Baco Natural Park.

Let’s use our platforms to amplify the call for wildlife protection and habitat preservation.

Last October 4, we celebrated and protected the animals sharing our planet. Every species deserves kindness, protection, and a safe place.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) aim in protecting our planet and building peace. Climate Action (SDG 13) restoring our forests as we heal our climate, giving wildlife a safe environment to live. Life below Water (SDG 14) protecting our oceans and millions of creatures that call it home. Life on Land (SDG 15) protecting our biodiversity as we protect our wildlife and ecosystems. The urgency for these goals became crystal clear as we need a balanced world where nature and humanity thrive together.

MENRO - Cuenca would like to remind us that protecting animals isn’t just an act of kindness - it is a critical foundation for achieving a sustainable future for everyone.

Maraming Salamat po PG-ENRO Batangas sa pagkilala sa Bayan ng Cuenca sa kanyang ambag sa pangako nito sa pangangalaga sa kapaligiran at aktibong pakikipagtulungan sa pagsusulong ng konserbasyon ng saribuhay (biodiversity), pagpapanumbalik ng ekosistema (ecosystem), at katatagan ng kapaligiran.

Ipagpapatuloy ang magandang nasimulan para sa ikagaganda at ikaaayos ng kapaligiran at likas-yaman sa Bayan ng Cuenca!

Today, at October 5, 2026, we celebrate Teachers' day and honor our teachers.

We honor those who help educate the minds, inspire climate action, and nurture a generation ready to build a more sustainable tomorrow.

Their work is instrumental in safeguarding our environment and directly supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). Through their efforts, they inspire more people to engage in climate action and mobilize communities toward a sustainable future.

Ang pagsusunog ng basura o open burning ay ipinagbabawal dahil ito ay nakakadulot ng polusyon sa hangin na nakakasira sa ating kalikasan at kalusugan.

Ito’y naglalabas ng nakakalasong usok at kemikal na maaaring magdulot ng sakit sa baga, hika at iba pang problemang pangkalusugan. Ang pag-sisiga ay nag-iiwan ng mga abo na nakakahawa sa lupa at groundwater na maaaring makapasok ito sa food chain sa pamamagitan ng pananim at alagang hayop.

I-report agad ang kung sinumang lumabag upang mapanatili nating ligtas at malinis ang kapaligiran para sa ating lahat.

Pinaalalahanan ng Municipal Environmental and Natural Resources Office Cuenca ang publiko, hinggil sa bagong panuntunan sa pagpuputol ng puno.

Alinsunod anila ito sa DENR-Administrative Order No. 2026-06, kung saan nakasaad na hindi na kinakailangan ng permit para sa pagputol, pagtitipon, pagkolekta at pag-alis ng hindi hihigit sa dalawang puno sa loob ng isang residential lot.

Ngunit sa kondisyon na mayroong paunang abiso sa kinauukulang DENR CENRO/Implementing PENRO/RED.

Samantala, pinaalalahanan naman ng tanggapan ang publiko na kung higit sa dalawang puno ay huwag basta putulin, mas mainam na makipagugnayan muna sa DENR CENRO/PENRO para sa kinakailangang permit o clearance.

FYI: Bagong Panuntunan sa PAGPUTOL NG PUNO
Alinsunod sa DENR-Administrative Order No. 2026-06.

Hindi kinakailangan ng permit para sa pagputol, pagtitipon, pagkolekta at/o pag-alis ng hindi hihigit sa dalawang (2) puno sa loob ng isang residential lot. Sa kondisyon na mayroong paunang abiso sa kinauukulang DENR CENRO/Implementing PENRO/RED sa kaso ng NCR. Ang itinakdang template ng abiso ay nakalakip bilang Annex A ng Utos na ito.

The 3rd Quarter Municipal Solid Waste Management Board (MSWMB) Meeting of the Municipality of Cuenca, Batangas was successfully conducted on September 30, 2026 at SB Session Hall, Cuenca, Batangas, bringing together concerned municipal offices, stakeholders, and partner agencies to discuss key issues and initiatives concerning solid waste management.

The meeting focused on the municipality’s continuing efforts on the

* Updates on the Status Request Extension of Warranty Services for the High Thermal Decomposition Machine / Updates on the Operationalization of the Pyrolysis .
- Presented by Engr. Jannzar Philip Mangubat Aala , EMS II / MENRO Designate

* Propose Official Logo of the MSWMB for Approval and Adoption on the Purpose of Institutional, Identification, Official documents , communication, Programs. activities and other Official undertakings
* Updates on the 10-Year SWM Plan Coaching Session

The Board immediately passed a Board Resolution No. 03 Series of 2026 " A Resolution Approving, declaring and adopting the Official Logo of the MSWMB of the Municipality of Cuenca, Batangas.

The successful conduct of the meeting demonstrates the Municipality of Cuenca’s continued commitment to effective, sustainable, and participatory solid waste management, promoting a cleaner, healthier, and more environmentally responsible community.

We attended the Batangas Environment and Natural Resources Officers Association (BENROA) General Assembly Meeting on September 29, 2026 at PG-ENRO Conference Room, Capitol Site, Kumintang Ibaba, Batangas City.

The Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) spearheaded the inaugural General Assembly.

The gathering aimed to unite and further strengthen the association of environmental officers from various local government units across the province. Through stronger ties, open communication, and effective coordination, BENROA seeks to bolster collective action in implementing programs for the conservation and management of Batangas's environment and natural resources.

As part of the General Assembly, an election for new BENROA officers was also conducted; these officers will serve as partners in fortifying the association and promoting more organized, unified action among environmental officers throughout the province.

The General Assembly provided an opportunity for the members to adopt the BENROA organizational structure, Constitution and By-Laws, and elected its officers.

Concurrently, it was an opportunity from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Biodiversity Management Bureau (DENR-BMB) to have an Orientation on the Marine Spatial Planning Data Inventory and Harmonization for the LGUs within Balayan Bay Area.

In addition, Product Presentation for Solid Waste Management was also presented by GreenCore.

With a stronger association and a shared goal, every step taken toward a resilient environment becomes even more meaningful.
