The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Maya handed over new sports equipment to the Maya Elementary School Athletics Team on Wednesday morning, August 26, in support of the young athletes as they gear up for their upcoming sports meets.

Among the equipment provided were javelins, discus plates, and a shot put, giving the athletes additional tools for training and competition in the throwing events of athletics.

The initiative reflects the SK’s continued support for sports development and its commitment to providing young Mayanhons with opportunities to hone their skills, compete with confidence, and represent Maya with pride.

The road to the Haladaya Festival 2026 officially began for Barangay Maya as Chrystabelle Arriesgado and Mc Arthur Enicuela were formally sashed as the barangay’s Festival Queen and Datu Daya representative, respectively, during the opening salvo of Daanbantayan’s annual fiesta celebration.

The sashing ceremony was held at Rizal Park, Daanbantayan, bringing together the festival’s participating barangays as the town opened this year’s festivities.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Maya Elementary School received ₱5,000 in financial assistance from the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Maya on August 17, 2026, to support its participation in the town’s Drum, Bugle, and Corps Competition.

The assistance was turned over by SK Chairperson Hon. Lee Hashman C. Patalita following a resolution submitted by the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA), led by President Mrs. Julie Ann Conde, requesting financial support from the Sangguniang Kabataan.

The amount will help shoulder the expenses of the school’s delegation as it prepares for the competition.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗕𝗘𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗗! 🩺⛑️

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Maya turned over medical equipment to the Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) of Barangay Maya during a distribution activity at the Maya Rural Health Center on the morning of August 17, 2026.

The equipment is intended to support the BHWs in monitoring residents’ vital signs and responding to medical emergencies, particularly during community activities and other situations requiring immediate health assessment.

All 14 BHWs received their own set of rechargeable medical devices, including a digital thermometer, pulse oximeter, and blood pressure monitor.

The turnover is part of the SK’s efforts to strengthen community-based health services by providing BHWs with essential equipment they can readily use in carrying out their duties in their respective sitios.

𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵! 💪🏐

Maya Combat Men’s Volleyball Team finished its Daanbantayan Fiesta League 2026 campaign with a silver medal after falling to Barangay Calape in four sets, 20-25, 17-25, 25-17, 21-25, on August 16, 2026.

Calape controlled the opening two sets, using strong serves and steady attacks to take an early 2-0 lead.

Facing a difficult situation, Maya responded in the third set.

The team tightened its defense and found more consistency on offense, pulling away to take the set, 25-17, and cut Calape’s lead to 2-1.

Maya carried that momentum into the fourth set, where both teams battled closely through the final points. Calape, however, managed to hold off Maya’s comeback and closed the championship match, 25-21.

The loss ended Maya Combat’s title bid, but the team still walked away with a runner-up finish after a strong run through the latter stages of the tournament.

From sweeping Barangay Paypay in the semifinals to pushing Calape through four sets in the championship match, Maya Combat showed it could compete with the league’s best.

A hard-fought run. A podium finish. A season to remember.
