PNP personnel of this station, under the supervision of PLTCOL DANILO D COLIPANO, Chief of Police, conducted continuous checkpoint operation and implementation of Municipal Ordinances, today, October 10, 2026, as part of the intensified campaign to maintain peace and order and ensure public safety within the area of responsibility.

The checkpoint operations were conducted along the National Highway of this municipality. These activities aimed to deter criminal activities, enforce traffic and safety regulations, and strengthen police visibility in the community.

The operation aimed to ensure the safety of the public, secure critical infrastructures and establishments, and monitor the movement of persons and vehicles entering and leaving the municipality.

₱3.69-MILLION WORTH OF GADGETS STOLEN IN DANAO CITY ROBBERY; TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED, EIGHT OTHERS HUNTED

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with robbery incidents involving two cellphone and gadget stores in Barangay Sabang, Danao City, Cebu, where electronic gadgets and cellular phones worth approximately ₱3.69 million were stolen. Eight other identified individuals remain at large as police intensify efforts to locate and apprehend them.

The incidents came to light on October 8, 2026, when personnel of the Danao City Police Station responded to reports of robbery at two establishments along the National Road in Barangay Sabang. Initial investigation revealed that the perpetrators forcibly entered the stores by destroying their padlocks before carting away various cellular phones and electronic gadgets.

The reported losses amounted to ₱799,900 from one establishment and ₱2.9 million from another, bringing the combined estimated value of the stolen items to ₱3,699,900.

Through follow-up investigation and hot pursuit operations, police located a vehicle allegedly used in the commission of the crimes. Subsequent police operations led to the arrest of two suspects. Authorities also reported the recovery of a van allegedly used during the robbery, which was found abandoned in Daanbantayan, Cebu.

PCOL ABUBAKAR UDANG MANGELEN JR., Provincial Director of the Cebu Police Provincial Office, emphasized the importance of sustained police operations and public cooperation in ensuring the swift resolution of the case. “We will continue to pursue every lead until the remaining suspects are located and brought before the law. Our investigators are working diligently to establish the full circumstances of these incidents. We also encourage the public to provide credible information that may help advance the investigation. The CPPO remains steadfast in protecting businesses, safeguarding properties, and ensuring the safety and security of our communities,” PCOL Mangelen said.

Cebu PPO continues its follow-up investigation and manhunt operations to apprehend the remaining suspects and establish the full circumstances surrounding the incidents. The office remains committed to professional, lawful, and people-centered policing in protecting the lives and properties of the people of Cebu.
