Message of Magdalo Party-List Rep. Gary Alejano to the PMA Mabalasik Class of 2019 on its Graduation:

Binabati ko ang PMA Mabalasik Class of 2019 sa kanilang pagtatapos ngayong araw, 26 May 2019, mula sa kanilang apat na taon na pag-aaral at pagsasanay sa loob ng Philippine Military Academy. Isa itong hudyat sa bagong yugto ng kanilang buhay sa pagsisilbi sa bayan at mamamayan. Sumasaludo din ako sa mga magulang ng mga magtatapos na kadete. Alam kong kayo ay proud sa nagawa ng iyong mga anak pero alam ko ring nandiyan pa rin ang alinlangan dahil sa panganib na dala ng pagiging sundalo.

Ang aking payo sa mga bagong tenyente ay laging alalahin ang ideyalismo na natutunan sa Academy, laging isapuso ang pagmamahal sa bayan, at ang pagiging tapat sa tungkulin sa lahat ng panahon. Kayo ay sundalo ng bayan at hindi ng iilan. Samu’t-sari ang tukso sa serbisyo kaya dapat maging matatag. Alalahaning marami na ring graduates ng PMA ang naging kurap nang maging senior officer o nang nagsilbi sa gobyerno matapos magretiro kahit pa man sila ay puno ng ideyalismo noong sila ay nagsimula pa lamang sa serbisyo.

Huwag tuluran ang mga nakikita tuwing alumni homecoming o bumibisita sa PMA na nagpaparada ng naggagandahang babae na di naman nila asawa o nagpapakita ng rangya sa pamagitan ng mamahaling sasakyan, alahas, at naglalakihang bahay na mansiyon kahit alam mong di naman kaya ng kanilang mga sweldo sa gobyerno. They should not be your role models. Di dapat sila kainggitan.

Ang PMA Honor Code na nagsasabi na “ang isang kadete ay hindi magsisinungaling, mandaya, o magnakaw o kunsintihin ang mga gumagawa nito” ay hindi lamang naaangkop sa loob ng apat na kanto ng akademiya. Ito ay dapat isapuso at isabuhay sa lahat ng panahon habang kayo ay nabubuhay. The Filipino people expect so much from you. They deserve your best. Mabuhay kayo at pagpalain kayo ng Poong Maykapal!

With Due Respect We at Rule of Law Sentinel wish to register our Dissenting Opinion to the position of DOJ GUEVARRA that the President is only require to inform the public of the state of his health if it is serious and THAT HE IS NO LONGER CAPABLE OF PERFORMING HIS MANDATE.
The phrase that "he is no longer capable of performing his mandate" is not textually provided for by our Constitution. Nowhere in the text of our Fundamental Law, the 1987 Constitution that such requirement should exist first before the President is Mandated to inform the Public of the State of his health. The only Constitutional Requirement is IN CASE OF SERIOUS ILLNESS!

As in fact Section 12 of Article 7 of the Constitution explicitly provides that;

"In case of serious illness of the President, the public shall be informed of the state of his health. The members of the Cabinet in charge of national security and foreign relations and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, shall not be denied access to the President during such illness."

With Due Respect the Honorable SOJ position is clear misreading of the Constitution or worst it is an unauthorize Amendment of our Fundamental Law.
