The inflationary impact of global fuel hikes and trade issues isn't just a national problem—it affects the everyday budget of families in our province. That’s why the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) – Camarines Norte Chapter conducted its 2-day Capacity Development Workshop and Legislative Policy Review at Paradiso Verde Organic Farm and Resort, Malasugui, Labo, Camarines Norte, to build a stronger, more resilient local economy.
Our municipal councilors teamed up with key government offices to learn how to fight these global challenges with effective local policies. During the sessions, DTI- Camarines Norte Provincial Director Ms. Christie A. Rivera gave us clear updates on setting up strict price monitoring to stop unfair price hikes in our public markets. BFAR Regional Director Ariel U. Pioquinto shared ideas on keeping our fishing and aquaculture industries steady despite global supply chain delays. Meanwhile, Mr. Lord Cedie C. Subia Area Coordinator for the province of Camarines Norte and Mr. Rhinelan Lachica, Area Coordinator for Region IV- B from the Presidential Commission for Urban Poor (PCUP), provided practical legal insights on asset reform to back up our urban poor.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to DILG Provincial Director Melody E. Relucio for her continued institutional support and commitment to enhancing the legislative capabilities of our local officials.
