Capitan National High School conducts its School-Based In-Service Training (INSET) for the end of First Term of School Year 2026–2027, with the aim of strengthening the professional capacity of teachers and enhancing the delivery of quality, inclusive, and learner-centered education.

The INSET focuses on four key areas essential to effective school and classroom practice:

🔹 Strengthening Curriculum Implementation – enhancing teachers’ knowledge, skills, and strategies in the effective implementation of the curriculum and in addressing the diverse learning needs of learners.

🔹 Enhancing Assessment Practices – strengthening teachers’ capacity to utilize appropriate, valid, and responsive assessment strategies to monitor learner progress and inform instruction.

🔹 Strengthening Learner Support – promoting responsive interventions and support mechanisms that address the academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of learners.

🔹 Promoting a Safe Learning Environment – reinforcing practices that ensure a secure, inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment conducive to teaching and learning.

Through this professional development initiative, the school reaffirms its commitment to continuous improvement, professional excellence, and the delivery of quality education. The active participation and collaboration of the teaching personnel are vital in ensuring that every learner receives meaningful support and equitable opportunities to succeed.

Capitan National High School successfully holds its First-Term Parents-Teachers Conference today as part of the school’s End-of-Term Activities.

The conference serves as an important avenue to update parents and guardians on the accomplishments, milestones, programs, and projects of the school during the first three months of School Year 2026–2027. It also provides an opportunity to present the school’s upcoming activities and initiatives geared toward improving the learning experiences and overall welfare of our learners.

One of the major highlights of the conference is the discussion of the academic progress and performance of learners during the first term. Through the distribution of School Report Cards, parents and guardians are given a clearer picture of their children’s accomplishments, areas for improvement, and learning progress.

More importantly, the Parents-Teachers Conference strengthens the partnership between the school, parents, and stakeholders. This collaboration is essential in implementing programs and projects that aim to:

CAPITAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL PARTICIPATES IN THE NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS SCHOOL SAFETY DRILL 2026

“𝓢𝓪𝓯𝓮𝓽𝔂 𝓲𝓼 𝓔𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂𝓸𝓷𝓮’𝓼 𝓡𝓮𝓼𝓹𝓸𝓷𝓼𝓲𝓫𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓽𝔂.”

Capitan National High School actively participated in the National Simultaneous School Safety Drill (NSSSD) 2026, strengthening the preparedness of learners, teachers, and school personnel in responding to emergencies and security-related incidents.

The activity was conducted in close partnership with the Municipal Police Station (PNP), emphasizing the importance of strong school-community collaboration in ensuring a safe and secure learning environment.

In accordance with the Department of Education’s school safety and preparedness policies, schools are encouraged to establish preventive measures, emergency response procedures, security protocols, and coordination mechanisms with local authorities. DepEd also recognizes that school emergencies may involve not only natural hazards but also human-induced incidents, violence, and other threats to the safety of learners and personnel.

The drill serves as an opportunity to practice preparedness, quick decision-making, communication, evacuation/lockdown procedures, accountability of learners, and coordination with emergency responders.

The current DepEd guidance also stresses security procedures, stringent protocols for guests, increased visibility of security personnel, and coordination with local authorities to help keep schools safe.

Through the continued partnership of Capitan National High School and the Municipal PNP, we strengthen our collective ability to protect our learners and personnel.

Work and learning continue for the learners of Capitan National High School, even under the roof of their own homes.

To ensure that learning remains uninterrupted, various learning activities, including activity sheets and learning modules, were provided to learners. These materials allow our Capitanian learners to continue working on their lessons while staying safe at home amid the threat of heavy rains brought by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

The safety of our learners and teachers remains our priority. At the same time, we remain committed to ensuring that education continues—anytime, anywhere, and in every situation.

| 𝐊-𝟏𝟐 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞-𝐭𝐨-𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧

The Provincial Government of Abra suspends onsite face-to-face classes in all public and private schools from Kindergarten to Senior High School on August 17, 2026, upon the recommendation of DepEd-Abra, to ensure the safety and well-being of learners and school personnel.

Schools are advised to implement Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM), when conditions permit, in accordance with DepEd guidelines.

This is pursuant to DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2024, particularly Section 1, Article I, which provides for the suspension of in-person classes during disasters and emergencies while ensuring learning continuity through appropriate alternative delivery modalities.

𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁?

As Term 1 examinations approach toward the end of August and the First Term officially concludes on 15 September 2026, the DepEd Three-Term School Calendar continues to be implemented in public schools across the Schools Division of Abra.

This reform aims to protect instructional time, strengthen learning continuity, ease teacher workload pressures, and ensure that every learner develops the essential learning competencies.

For clarity, the implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar does not change the curriculum, academic standards, national assessments, or the required number of school days.

Let us continue to stay informed and work together-teachers, learners, parents, and the entire Abra education community—in supporting the successful implementation of the DepEd Three-Term School Calendar.

𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲| 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Despite the gloomy weather and continuous heavy rainfall due to the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) , the SDRRM Coordinator conducted a school inspection today to check the condition of the school.

Thankfully, no damages were found in the classrooms. However, some parts of the school buildings are already severely deteriorated due to their old structure and age.

The school will continue to monitor the condition of the buildings to ensure the safety of our school facilities.

Capitan National High School officially kicked off the Nutrition Month Celebration 2026 during the Flag Raising Ceremony held on Monday, July 13, 2026.

Following the ceremony, the school formally introduced this year's theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan." The school nurse shared insights on the significance of the theme, emphasizing the strong connection between proper nutrition, environmental stewardship, and the overall well-being of every learner.

As part of the kickoff celebration, learners brought a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables as a manifestation of their commitment to a healthy lifestyle and an appreciation of the nutritious food that nature provides. This simple yet meaningful activity highlighted the importance of choosing healthy, natural foods as part of daily living.

In line with the Division Memorandum No. 288, s. 2026, the month-long Nutrition Month activities are integrated into various learning areas to ensure meaningful participation while keeping regular instructional time uninterrupted.

Through this celebration, Capitan National High School reaffirms its commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, environmental awareness, and holistic learner development.

Capitan National High School proudly participated in the Simultaneous Flag-Raising Ceremony in commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Award, reaffirming our commitment to patriotism, national sovereignty, and civic responsibility.

The ceremony was attended by personnel from the Daguioman Municipal Police Station (MPS), who shared an important message with the learners, teachers, and school personnel regarding their continuing commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our school community through their daily presence and support.

Capitan NHS extends its sincere appreciation to the Daguioman MPS for their dedication to maintaining a safe, peaceful, and secure learning environment for all.
