INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING (IDADAIT) 2026
Barangay Salapingao,, in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the City Local Government Operations Office of Dagupan City, stands united with the global community in observing the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) 2026 this June.
This year’s theme, “World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses,” serves as a powerful reminder that our approach to combating the drug menace must evolve as rapidly as the challenges we face.
The global drug problem remains a complex issue that impacts public health, community safety, and socioeconomic development. Addressing it requires moving beyond traditional methods and embracing innovative, evidence-based, and compassionate solutions.
As a community, our commitment is anchored on three strategic pillars:
PREVENT DRUG ABUSE: Education and awareness are our first lines of defense. By equipping our youth and families with the right knowledge, we can build resilience against the dangers of illegal drugs.
PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY: Creating safe, supportive spaces where individuals feel secure and empowered to make positive life choices.
BUILD A DRUG-FREE TOMORROW: Fostering sustainable programs for rehabilitation reintegration, and community-based support systems that give individuals a second chance at a bright future.
In line with the national vision of , Bagong Pag-asa, Barangay Salapingao remains dedicated to localized governance that is "Matino, Mahusay, at Maaasahan." True progress begins at the grassroots level, and a drug-free barangay is the foundation of a thriving, secure city.
We call on all residents, youth leaders, and stakeholders to actively participate in keeping our community safe. Let us look out for one another, support those in need, and collectively make a stand.
Say NO to drugs. Say YES to a healthier, safer, and more vibrant Caranglaan!
