Held from May 25–28, 2026, the Human Resource Management Section, in collaboration with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Office I, successfully conducted the Gender and Development (GAD) activity entitled “Empowered Workforce, Inclusive Service: Strengthening Values, Leadership, and Gender Equality for a Responsive Organization.” The program featured the Leadership Seminar and Supervisory Development Course (SDC) Track 1, anchored on the theme “Leading Without Limits: Gender-Responsive Supervision for the Modern Workplace.”

The activity was attended by emerging leaders and supervisors, section heads, division chiefs, and the institution’s Medical Center Chief, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to fostering effective, inclusive, and gender-responsive leadership at all levels.

The course was designed to strengthen the foundational competencies of government officials and employees performing supervisory functions. It focused on enhancing personal effectiveness, career development, delegation skills, decision-making, and effective communication. Through a combination of reflective learning, interactive discussions, and practical applications, participants were equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead with confidence, make timely and informed decisions, and cultivate high-performing teams. The program likewise emphasized the importance of gender-responsive leadership in creating an inclusive workplace and delivering responsive public service, while supporting participants’ continued professional growth and development in the public sector.

In its continuing pursuit of innovative avenues for health promotion, TRC Dagupan strengthens its reach by forging meaningful partnerships beyond traditional settings. Armed with expertise and commitment, Public Health Unit Chairperson Dr. Honey S. Tila and Health Education and Promotion Officer Ms. Melliscent Bangsoy brought the World No To***co Day Celebration to a promising new ally in drug awareness and prevention—Ace Medical Center Pangasinan—on May 28, 2026.

The activity was further enriched by the virtual presence and message of appreciation from Medical Center Chief II Dr. Rosalina Caoile. In collaboration with the Philippine College of Occupational Medicine (PCOM) Pangasinan Chapter, led by Dr. Fernando Fernandez, and the Pangasinan Medical Society (PMS) North Central Pangasinan President Dr. Larry Sarito, the initiative was warmly welcomed by Ace Medical Center Pangasinan Medical Director Dr. Heintje Esio represented by the Hospital President Dr. Gladys De Vera, with active participation from personnel across various departments.

Centered on the theme “The Other Side of Care,” the session highlighted the often-overlooked realities of workplace burnout and the potential risk of substance misuse among employed individuals. More than an educational activity, it served as a call to protect the well-being of those who dedicate themselves to caring for others.

On May 29, 2026, before the kickoff of School Year 2026-2027, St. Clarice School invited representatives from the DOH- Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center Dagupan (DTRC-Dagupan) to conduct an information dissemination seminar on the Drug-Free Workplace Policy and Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
The activity was attended by the school’s faculty members and stakeholders, aiming to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of maintaining a drug-free environment within the educational institution.
This activity reflects St. Clarice School’s commitment to protecting and promoting the well-being of its students by fostering a safe, healthy and drug-free educational environment.

The DOH–DTRC Dagupan Research Committee successfully conducted its institutional courtesy visit to Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center and the Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium Ethics Review Committee – Office of the Secretariat on May 20–21, 2026, in Batac, Ilocos Norte.

The activity provided the Committee with valuable and in-depth insights into the Consortium’s ethical review processes, governance mechanisms, and operational procedures in research ethics administration. The visit was led by Dr. Ronnie R. Salvador, Chairperson of the Research Committee, and was warmly welcomed by Ms. Liezel Biag and Ms. Anagay Ranga of the R1HRDC Secretariat.

The Committee likewise extends its deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Maria Lourdes K. The Department of Health – Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DOH-DTRC) Dagupan successfully conducted the Second Batch of the “Strengthening Digital Foundation: Basic Computer Literacy Skills Training for DOH-DTRC Employees” on May 21, 2026, aimed at enhancing the digital competence and technical confidence of employees across various sections of the institution. The training served as a continuing effort to equip personnel with essential computer knowledge and practical digital skills necessary in today’s fast-evolving workplace environment.

The activity featured engaging discussions, interactive demonstrations, and hands-on exercises focused on fundamental computer operations and productivity tools. Resource speakers Mr. Oliver A. De Guzman and Ms. Joyce D. Pedeglorio guided the participants through basic computer hardware and software, encouraging active participation and collaborative learning throughout the session. Employees were also given the opportunity to apply their learnings directly through guided activities and workshops.

The training highlighted how digital literacy improves efficiency, productivity, and public service within the healthcare sector. Held last May 18–21, 2026 the Residential Program successfully conducted Sportsfest 2026 bringing together clients and employees in four days of meaningful sports activities that promoted camaraderie, discipline, wellness, and active recovery.

Throughout the event, clients actively participated in various indoor and outdoor sports that showcased not only their athletic skills and talents, but also their resilience, teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship.

Adding excitement and inspiration to the celebration was the All-Star Game participated in by employees through basketball and badminton, highlighting the staff’s active support and involvement in the recovery journey of the patients. Their participation reflected unity, encouragement, and commitment in creating a therapeutic environment that promotes healing and holistic development.

Through sports, teamwork, and shared experiences, Sportsfest 2026 became a celebration of recovery, unity, wellness, and community.

In line with the commitment of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Dagupan to strengthen community awareness, rehabilitation, and personal development programs toward sustaining a drug-free workplace, an Anti-Illegal Drug Abuse Seminar and Addiction Awareness activity was conducted on May 21, 2026.

As part of the program and in collaboration with the center’s Public Health Unit (PHU), Mr. Gino Daniel M. Abalos and Mr. Juan Rafael Opsima from the Psychological Services Section served as resource speakers for the event. They delivered informative lectures to selected Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) from the male dormitory and BJMP personnel on the harmful effects of illegal drugs, the importance of rehabilitation, and the value of making positive life changes.

The activity reinforced that recovery is possible, awareness is powerful, and a united commitment can build a safer, healthier, and drug-free environment for all.
