🔬✨ “Science in Motion: Celebrating Brilliance and Innovation at ECIS!” ✨🔬

The School-Based National Science Club Month Celebration 2025 Culminating Program at East Central Integrated School, held on October 15, 2025, at the Elementary Gymnasium, was a spectacular showcase of intellect, creativity, and passion for science. The event beautifully captured the spirit of discovery and innovation that defines the ECIS community. 🌍💡

The program opened with the singing of “Pilipinas Kong Mahal” and a heartfelt prayer through AVP, setting an atmosphere of patriotism and gratitude. An inspiring Opening Remarks from Ma’am Jane G. Ramirez, Head Teacher III of the Science Department, encouraged learners to continue exploring the wonders of science and technology. 👩‍🏫✨

Highlighting leadership and responsibility, the Oath Taking of YES-O Officers for both elementary and secondary levels followed—led by Ma’am Leilani Estrada, YES-O Adviser (Elementary), and Sir Michael Garcia, YES-O Adviser (Secondary)—empowering young environmental stewards to take action for a sustainable future. 🌱🌏

Excitement filled the air as the Scientist Look-Alike Contest began, featuring brilliant students who personified legendary scientists with confidence and flair. Emcees introduced the esteemed panel of judges—Mrs. Jane G. Ramirez, Mrs. Aileen Cortez, and Mr. Jeffrey Lacosta—before the reading of the criteria for judging. 👨‍🔬👩‍🔬

While the tabulation was being finalized, the audience was treated to vibrant performances from the Science Jingle Contest winners, filling the gymnasium with rhythm, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. 🎶🔭

The energy soared during the Awarding of Winners from various Science competitions such as Quiz Bee, Slogan Contest, Digital and Non-Digital Poster Making Contest, STEMazing Contest, and Science Jingle Contest—recognizing the brilliance and hard work of ECIS learners. 🏅📚

The program concluded with the announcement of winners of the Scientist Look-Alike Contest, marking the highlight of the celebration—a testament to how science continues to inspire imagination, leadership, and excellence among the youth. 🚀✨

🔬✨ Brilliance in Motion: ECIS Celebrates Science and Innovation! ✨🔬

As part of the School-Based National Science Club Month Celebration 2025 Culminating Program, East Central Integrated School proudly showcased the Scientist Look-Alike Competition held on October 15, 2025, at the Elementary Gymnasium. The event became a vibrant stage of creativity and intellect, where young scientists brought history’s brightest minds back to life! 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

In Category A (Grades 3–6), Ryvn Roiv Camara captivated the crowd as the visionary Ada Lovelace, emerging as Champion. 💻🏆

For Category B (Grades 7–12), Mhae Psalms Dela Torre shined as the inventive Hedy Lamarr, taking home the Champion title. 🌟 Following closely, Jimel Arceo impressed as the brilliant Isaac Newton, earning 1st Runner-Up, while Cyrus Kim Corla electrified the audience as Michael Faraday, claiming 2nd Runner-Up. ⚡📚

The event stood as a celebration of innovation, curiosity, and the power of young minds, proving that the flame of science continues to burn brightly at ECIS! 🌍💡

The East Central Integrated School (ECIS) YES-O Officers, together with their dedicated advisers, Sir Michael J. Garcia and Ma’am Donabel M. Paragas, and guided by Ma’am Jane G. Ramirez, Head Teacher III, actively participated in the 2025 International Coastal Clean-up Drive held at Bonuan Beach, Dagupan City, Pangasinan on September 20, 2025, starting as early as 6:00 a.m.

The team enthusiastically joined volunteers from different sectors in collecting trash and marine debris along the shoreline, showcasing their strong commitment to environmental protection and conservation. Their early morning effort not only contributed to a cleaner and safer coastal environment but also served as an inspiring example of youth leadership and community involvement in addressing global environmental challenges.

SURVIVAL OF THE SMART ENOUGH
Science Quiz Bee for Junior and Senior High School

WHO: Junior and Senior High School Students
WHAT: QUIZ BEE COMPETITION
WHEN: September 23, 2025 (Tuesday) – 4:00 PM
WHERE: High School Gym

I. GENERAL RULES
The contest aims to help students enjoy and appreciate Science through a fun competition. It also hopes to develop quick thinking, confidence, and excellence, while teaching the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and determination
The contest shall consist of 10 teams from grade 7-12. Each team must have 6 members, 1 participant for each grade level.
The questions will focus on basic Science facts from High School Science including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth and Space Science, and Environmental Science as well as Innovations.
The Contest will be divided into three (3) rounds: the Easy, Average and Difficult round.
The contestants should be at the place of the competition ten (10) minutes before the scheduled time. Immediate disqualification will be implemented to those contestants who failed to show up (10) minutes after the supposed start of the quiz bee.
Clarifications regarding the rules of the competition shall be entertained by the committee before the start of the contest.

II. QUIZ BEE PROPER
Cellular or mobile phones are not allowed during the contest proper.
The Easy and Average round shall consist of twenty (20) questions, ten (10) for the Easy round and also for the Average round.
The type of questions will be in multiple choice and identification.
The time limit in answering multiple choice type will be 10 seconds and 15 seconds for identification. For problems requiring computations, the contestants will be given 45 seconds to answer regardless of the type of question. Calculators are not allowed.
Each question shall be given a predetermined number of points corresponding to its round. For the easy, 1 point and for the average 2 points.
The questions shall be read twice. Afterwards, the quiz master will say “GO”, only then the contestants may start writing their answer on the illustration boards and, at the same time, the start of the countdown timer. Participants should raise their pens and show their final answers after the time allotted for the specified question.

Misbehavior of a team during contest could be a ground for disqualification.
No questions shall be entertained during the contest proper. Any question or query to the correctness of answers should be raised before the start of the next question.
The top three (3) teams with the highest scores gathered shall advance to the difficult round.
The difficult round shall consist of five (5) questions. Each question is worth three (3) points.
The teams who get the highest number of points will automatically be declared the champion and runner ups respectively. In case of a tie, the involved teams will have to answer a tie-breaker question, in which the first team who could give the correct answer shall be declared as the winner for the slot or rank they are competing for.

Inspiring Innovation: ECIS Symposium Explores Science and Technology for a Better Future

On October 8, 2024, East Central Integrated School held a thought-provoking symposium at the Junior High School Gymnasium as part of its National Science Club Month celebration. With the theme “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Kinabukasan,” the event featured Mr. Michael J. Garcia, a respected advocate for science and technology, as the keynote speaker.

Mr. Garcia captivated the audience by emphasizing the role of siyensya (science) and inobasyon (innovation) as powerful tools for building a stable, comfortable, and secure future. His insightful talk connected the dots between modern technology and its potential to address societal challenges, inspiring students to explore science and innovation as paths to positive change.
