Today, July 16, marks the anniversary of the tragic 1990 Luzon killer earthquake—a powerful reminder of nature's unpredictability and the absolute necessity of disaster readiness.

To honor the memory of the past and ensure the safety of our future, Gen. Gregorio Del Pilar Elementary School (GGDPES) conducted a surprise, unannounced earthquake drill today.

When the alarm sounded unexpectedly, our Del Pilarian learners, faculty, and staff sprang into immediate action! Without hesitation, classrooms executed the life-saving "Duck, Cover, and Hold" technique, followed by a calm, orderly, and swift evacuation to our designated safe zones.

Real emergencies don't give us a warning. By testing our response without prior notice, we ensure that safety isn't just a scheduled exercise—it is a muscle memory habit. We are incredibly proud of our students for showing discipline, focus, and maturity during today’s surprise scenario!

Today, June 25, 2026, our young learners from Grades 1 to 3 at General Gregorio Del Pilar Elementary School participated in a vital and engaging Lecture on Traffic Signs and Road Safety Awareness.

This wonderful initiative was brought to our campus by the City Government through Public Order and Safety Office (POSO), led by our dedicated POSO Chief, Sir Arvin B. Decano.

Our primary graders learned all about:

Reading Road Signs: Understanding what the shapes, symbols, and traffic light colors mean.

Safe Crossing Habits: How to properly use pedestrian lanes and always look left, right, and left again.

Street Smart Awareness: Being mindful of their surroundings when walking to and from school.

Proper use of helmet : Importance and proper wearing of helmet.

A huge thank you to Mayor Mayor Belen T. Fernandez and POSO Chief Sir Arvin B. Decano and the entire POSO team for teaching our students that safety always comes first. By instilling these habits early, we are raising a generation of responsible road users!

In light of the recent strong earthquakes and calamities affecting the Philippines, equipping our youth with safety skills is more critical than ever. General Gregorio del Pilar Elementary School successfully conducted an essential 2-day emergency response training on June 18-19, 2026 specifically tailored for our Grades 4 to 6 learners. Here is a recap of our impactful 2-day activity:

Duck, Cover, & Hold: Perfecting the standard earthquake safety response.

Smart Evacuation: Executing orderly exit plans to avoid panic.

Go-Bag Essentials: Identifying critical emergency items for survival kits.

Junior CPR Basics: Learning how chest compressions save lives.

Choking Rescue: Practicing the Heimlich maneuver safely.

Bandage Skills: Managing wounds and stabilizing fractures.

Calm Response: Training young minds to stay composed during emergencies.

This vital event was made possible through the excellent initiative and expertise of Ziah Medical and Training Services.

👍 Kindergarten, Grade 5 at Grade 6 ay hindi po kasali sa class shifting kung kaya ay dating schedule ang susundan nila.

✅ Sa mga mag-aaral sa Grade 2 ay dumating po kayo sa paaralan sa oras na 12:00 ng tanghali. At sa mga Grade 4 naman ay 11:15 ng umaga.
