The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pangasinan, through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), successfully conducted a Team Building and Conflict Management Training for Organizational Effectiveness for the Women's Unity for Progress and Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC) on June 30, 2026, in Primicias, Mapandan, Pangasinan.

The training aimed to enhance teamwork, improve communication, strengthen collaboration, and equip cooperative members with effective conflict management skills to foster a more resilient and productive organization.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Genesis Aubrian Bicera for serving as the resource speaker and for sharing valuable insights and practical strategies that inspired the participants to work together with unity, trust, and a shared commitment toward organizational excellence.

Together, we continue to empower cooperatives and build stronger communities through capacity development and collaboration.

The Department of Trade and Industry – Pangasinan Provincial Office, through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (DTI-CARP), successfully conducted a Skills Upgrading Training on Cashew-Based Products: Wine and Vinegar Making on June 18, 2026 in Laoag, Aguilar, Pangasinan.

The training was attended by the members of Jungle Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC) and aimed to enhance their knowledge and skills in value-adding cashew products, particularly the production of cashew wine and vinegar. This initiative seeks to promote product diversification, improve income-generating opportunities, and strengthen the enterprise capabilities of agrarian reform beneficiaries.

The resource speaker and trainer, Mr. Arvin C. Tuyan, Head Extension Officer of the National Apiculture Research Training and Development Institute (NARTDI), Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – North La Union Campus (DMMMSU-NLUC), Bacnotan, La Union, generously shared his expertise and practical insights on cashew processing techniques, quality standards, and market potential.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Pangasinan Provincial Office, through its Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (DTI-CARP), successfully conducted the “Skills Enhancement on Tamarind Candy Production and Enterprise Sustainability for Cooperative Development” on June 10, 2026, in Barlo, Mabini, Pangasinan for the members of the Barlo Agrarian Reform Cooperative (BARC).

The activity aimed to enhance the participants’ skills in tamarind candy production while strengthening their entrepreneurial and enterprise management capabilities. Through hands-on learning and practical demonstrations, participants gained valuable knowledge on product processing, quality improvement, and value-adding opportunities for their cooperative products.

The training was conducted in partnership with TESDA-LMMSAT, with Ms. Aiza N. Quiteves, Assistant Professor II, serving as the Resource Speaker and Trainer. A session on product pricing and costing was also conducted to equip participants with the necessary tools in determining competitive and profitable pricing strategies for their products.

As part of DTI-CARP’s continuing support to agrarian reform beneficiaries, training materials, equipment, and supplies were turned over to the cooperative to further strengthen its production capability and support the sustainability of its enterprise.

The activity reflects DTI-CARP’s commitment to empowering agrarian reform beneficiaries through skills enhancement, enterprise development, and the promotion of sustainable livelihood opportunities within agrarian reform communities.

Strengthening Digital Transformation Through Mentorship

As part of its continuing commitment to empowering agrarian reform beneficiary organizations through innovation and technology, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Pangasinan Provincial Office, through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), in partnership with the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) College of Information Systems (CIS), successfully conducted an In-Depth Mentorship Activity on June 3, 2026, for the personnel of the Bantog Samahang Nayon Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

The activity focused on providing comprehensive guidance and hands-on mentoring on the effective utilization of the Multi-Purpose Cooperative and Retail Store Management System previously deployed in the country’s first-ever CARP Tindahan. Through the mentorship sessions, cooperative personnel were further equipped with practical knowledge on system features and functionalities, enabling them to maximize the platform in managing daily operations, inventory monitoring, record management, and data processing.

The initiative underscores the importance of continuous capacity-building and technical support in ensuring the successful adoption of digital solutions among cooperatives. By strengthening the competency of system users, the partnership aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve service delivery, and promote sustainability within the cooperative.

Through collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning, the first CARP Tindahan in the Philippines continues to set the benchmark for digital transformation in the cooperative sector.

Strengthening Agrarian Reform Enterprises Through Product Development Skills

A Skills Training on Product Design, Proper Labeling, and Product Packaging was conducted in Labuan, San Quintin, Pangasinan on May 26, 2026 for the members of the Magandang Buhay Farmers Agrarian Reform Cooperative.

The activity supports the Village Level Farm-Focused Enterprise Development (VLFED) Program of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), which aims to strengthen agrarian reform beneficiaries by enhancing their capacity to develop competitive and market-ready products.

The Department of Trade and Industry through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (DTI-CARP) served as resource speaker, providing technical inputs on product design principles, proper labeling standards, and effective packaging techniques.

Participants were oriented on improving product presentation, ensuring label accuracy, and using appropriate packaging materials to enhance product quality and market competitiveness. They also identified areas for improvement based on their current practices.

The activity concluded successfully with active participation and commitment from the members to apply the learnings in strengthening their livelihood and enterprise development.

📌 Building Stronger Teams, Stronger Cooperatives!

On May 21, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (DTI-CARP) conducted a Team Building and Conflict Management activity for the members of Maresma Multi-Purpose Cooperative in San Andres, Balungao, Pangasinan.

The activity, facilitated by trainer Mr. Genesis Aubrian Bicera, focused on strengthening teamwork, effective communication, and conflict management within the organization. He emphasized the importance of unity, mutual understanding, and resolving conflicts constructively to maintain a healthy and productive cooperative environment.

Participants actively engaged in interactive team-building exercises designed to build trust, improve coordination, and strengthen collaboration toward shared goals.

The activity concluded successfully with strong participation and engagement from the members, who expressed their commitment to apply the learnings in improving teamwork, harmony, and overall cooperative performance.
