The Provincial Nutrition Evaluation Team (PNET) of Bukidnon successfully conducted the Monitoring and Evaluation of the Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro 2026 for Implementation Year (IY) 2025 in the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Dangcagan, reaffirming the municipalityโs continued commitment to effective nutrition governance. The evaluation was conducted 14 April 2026.
The activity was facilitated by the PNET headed by Team Leader Reyno C. Sevilla, RN of the Department of Education โ Bukidnon. Present during the evaluation were members of the Municipal Nutrition Committee of Dangcagan, demonstrating strong local support for nutrition initiatives under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Mark Vincent Dandansan, Vice Mayor Serville Cabunoc, and Provincial Administrator Fruto Dandansan.
The local nutrition focal points evaluated during the activity were Kareen Lebria, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, and Ma. Flor B. Sumaliray, Barangay Nutrition Scholar of Barangay Miaray.
Following the assessment, an exit conference and feedback session were conducted to present the findings of the evaluation, recognize strengths in program implementation, and provide recommendations to further strengthen local nutrition initiatives.
A highlight of the evaluation was the confirmation that the LGU of Dangcagan successfully maintained its Green Banner Seal of Compliance, a prestigious recognition awarded to local government units that demonstrate exemplary performance and sustained compliance with national nutrition program standards.
The monitoring and evaluation process plays a vital role in ensuring that local nutrition programs are effectively implemented and aligned with provincial and national nutrition priorities. Through systematic assessment and constructive feedback, the activity helps identify areas for improvement, highlight best practices, and strengthen the capacity of local nutrition workers.
Moreover, the process reinforces transparency and accountability in local governance while supporting evidence-based planning to address malnutrition and improve health outcomes, particularly among children and other vulnerable sectors of the community.
