In relation to Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 2 issued by PAGASA at 5:00 PM on November 2, 2025, Tropical Storm โTINOโ (Kalmaegi) has intensified into a Severe Tropical Storm while over the Philippine Sea. The center of Severe Tropical Storm โTINOโ was estimated, based on all available data, at 805 km east of Eastern Visayas (11.4ยฐN, 133.1ยฐE). It has maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 115 km/h, a central pressure of 990 hPa, and is moving westward at 30 km/h. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is already in effect over Siargao Island, including this municipality.
In relation also to the advisory of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council dated November 2, 2025, re: CANCELLATION / SUSPENSION OF WORK AND CLASSES FOR TC โTINOโ, classes at all levels, both public and private, and work in both government and private offices across this municipality are hereby suspended starting November 3, 2025 (Monday) and shall remain in effect until weather conditions improve and it is deemed safe for all. This also includes the suspension of school activities, tourism activities, and all sea travel.
However, to ensure the continuity of essential government functions despite the declaration of work suspension, agencies responsible for basic, essential, emergency, and health services, preparedness, and response duties must continue to be operational.
All concerned are reminded to uphold the principles of proactivity, coordination, and safety in all disaster preparedness activities. Stay alert and coordinate with local authorities.
