The City Government of Dapitan has officially commenced its participation in the nationwide observance of National Womenโ€™s Month, aligning with the multi-year theme, "WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society."

The announcement was made during the Monday flag-raising ceremony at the city government grounds by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), led by Ms. Marilyn S. Sy.

This yearโ€™s celebration emphasizes the collective responsibility of achieving gender equality, with "WE" representing both Women and Everyone. Drawing inspiration from the pre-colonial Babaylans, the campaign highlights women's leadership characterized by wisdom, empathy, and community guidance.

The celebration aims to amplify womenโ€™s leadership across all sectors, foster inclusivity by ensuring marginalized women have full access to opportunities and actively engage all citizens in dismantling gender-based discrimination.

The kick-off ceremony was marked by the oath-taking of 50 newly elected KALIPI Women Presidents, followed by the KALIPI Federation Officers, with the rites administered by Mayor Evelyn "Belen" T. Uy and Vice Mayor Gabriel M. Cad.

The activity was graced by the ever-supportive woman and the mother of Dapitan City, the brave and active City Mayor, Hon. Evelyn Tang Uy, whose presence further strengthened the call for women to lead with courage and purpose.

We also deeply appreciate Dr. Esmeralda A. Nadela, Head Administrator of ZNMC, for supporting accessible healthcare services for women; Patri B.
