One year ago, I stood before you as I took my solemn oath and promised to serve every Dapitanon with integrity, passion, and dedication. It feels like just yesterday when we were on the campaign trail, sharing our vision for our beloved city. Today marks exactly 365 days since you gave me the chance and the honor to serve as your City Councilor—a precious privilege that I truly cherish.

One year in service feels like a brief glimpse into a journey that has added 'Honorable' to my name. But being a councilor is not as easy as many think, especially if you fulfill your responsibilities wholeheartedly. It demands compassion, commitment, humility, resilience, authenticity, a good heart, patience, and an unwavering willingness to serve.

This first year has been a period of profound growth. Behind every committee hearing that requires hours of research and collaboration, and behind every ordinance passed and resolution adopted, there was a steep learning curve for a first-timer stepping into local legislation. However, these hurdles did not hinder my goals for the Dapitanons; instead, they pushed me to be tougher and to do more for everyone.

Because of your strong trust and our collective hard work, we didn't just occupy a seat for ourselves—this seat belongs to all of you. Over the past 12 months, our legislative agenda has focused tightly on what matters most. The breakthroughs we achieved do not belong to me alone; they are our shared achievements. I truly believe that 'no man is an island,' and no single councilor can move a city forward alone. I am deeply grateful to my colleagues in the council, to our hardworking staff, and to the active citizens who voice the true needs of our community.

This is only the beginning, and we are still far from the finish line. As we enter our second year in service, our call to action is to do more, to reach out to those who are truly in need, and to create a lasting, positive impact on the life of every Dapitanon.

To all the constituents of Dapitan City, thank you so much for your unwavering support and your patience. My doors remain wide open, and my commitment to our goals remains absolute. Let us continue to help one another build a better future. Let us work as one!
Thank you very much, and may God bless us all!
