These awards are a reflection of Dapitan’s creativity, culture, heritage, unity, and excellence. They also represent the hard work of the artists, designers, performers, creatives, organizers, volunteers, city offices, partners, and communities who gave their time, talent, and heart to bring Dapitan’s story forward.

From the powerful storytelling of Maria Uray, to the vibrant and engaging booth, to the elegance of our costume parade, and the grace of our queen Andrea Cuesta Parson, Dapitan once again showed the beauty, strength, and pride of the Dapitanon spirit.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: The four-week summer youth development program, Batang Dasig 2026, officially concluded with a festive culmination ceremony on June 4, 2026, at the Dapitan City National High School Covered Court.

Centered on the theme “Batang Dasig 2026: Tagumpay ng Sikad, Sulat, ug Saloma,” the event was graced by Mayor Evelyn “Belen” T. Uy, Vice Mayor Gabriel M. Cad, and City Councilors Alexandra Judith P. Meily and Erasmo J. Bayron, who gathered with participants, parents, and coaches to celebrate the talents and achievements of young Dapitanons.

The ceremony featured powerful messages of encouragement from city leaders and the symbolic “Sulo ng Dasig” (Torch of Vigor) ritual, which reminded the youth to keep shining with purpose, discipline, and excellence.

The successful program concluded with a grand finale, a unity dance, marking the beginning of stronger dreams and a brighter future for the youth of Dapitan.

Gipalig-on sa Kagamhanang Lokal sa Dapitan ang agresibong programa alang sa kinaiyahan pinaagi sa usa ka tree-growing activity niadtong Hunyo 4 didto sa Barangay Tamion.

Ang maong kalihokan gipahigayon pinaagi sa City Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO) sa pagpanguna ni Dr. George T. Olario Jr., aron dasigon ug usahon ang mga lideres ug mga boluntaryo gikan sa 50 ka barangay sa dakbayan.

Sa maong pagtinabangay, malampuson nga natanom ang 100 ka mga semilya sa Lumbayao ug 100 sa Bagasili. Pinaagi sa paggamit niini nga mga klase sa kahoy nga lawom og gamot, mas mapalig-on pa ang yuta batok sa daling pagdahili ug makatabang sa paglimpyo sa hangin batok sa climate change.

Ang maong inisyatiba nagtumong sa reforestation sa maong dapit, pagpanalipod sa mga tanom nga hapit na mawala, ug pagpanalipod batok sa mga kalamidad.

Labaw sa tanan, kini nga inisyatiba nagpasiugda og panaghiusa sa pagpanalipod sa mga watershed. Ang matag representante sa barangay maoy mag-atiman ug magmabinantayon sa dapit aron masiguro ang mas lunhaw ug mas luwas nga ugma sa tanang Dapitanon.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: In a steadfast demonstration of its commitment to marine conservation, the City Government of Dapitan safely released seven more berried (egg-bearing) mother crabs back into the wild at Fishport Bagting on June 4, 2026.

The environmental effort was spearheaded by City Mayor Evelyn "Belen" T. Uy, alongside City Councilor Dennis Tan and City Agriculturist Cyril Patangan, ensuring the immediate return of the fertile crustaceans to their natural spawning grounds.

By allowing these mother crabs to hatch millions of offspring naturally, the local government actively replenishes wild marine stocks, stabilizes the local culinary economy, and safeguards the primary livelihoods of coastal fisherfolk who rely on a healthy, biodiverse marine ecosystem.

Gipahigayon sa Kagamhanang Lokal sa Dapitan, pinaagi sa Public Employment Service Office (PESO) ug sa pakigtambayayong sa Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), ang usa ka orientation alang sa ikaduhang grupo sa mga benepisyaryo sa Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) niadtong Hunyo 3, 2026, sa Amphitheater, Government Center.

Mokabat sa 69 ka mga estudyante ang misalmot isip pagpangandam sa ilang umaabot nga 20 ka adlaw nga pagtrabaho sulod niini nga bulan sa nagkalain-laing buhatan sa gobyerno.

Gihimo ang maong kalihokan aron mahatagan ang mga estudyante og saktong kahibalo mahitungod sa mga responsibilidad sa trabaho, saktong pamatasan, ug mga patakaran sa programa.

𝐓𝐀𝐍-𝐀𝐖𝐀: Malampuson nga natapos sa 38 ka mga responders gikan sa Dapitan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) ang tulo ka adlaw nga Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Training Course niadtong Hunyo 2 hangtod 4, 2026, didto sa DCGEA-MPC Building sa Sunset Boulevard, Dawo.

Ang maong inisyatiba gipahigayon sa mga eksperto sa disaster management gikan sa Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Pagadian nga gipangulohan ni Chief of Capacity Building and Training Section Angelito R. Casinillo ug Planning Officer Michelle Fernandez-Yague, inubanan ni Dipolog City CDRRMO EOC Manager Bryan Jauculan ug Dapitan CDRRMO EOC Manager Nelson Quimiging.

Mitambong usab sa programa sila si OCD Region IX, Regional Director Atty. Ruel S. Halanes ug City Councilor Raul Carreon aron ihatag ang ilang suporta ug kadasig sa mga partisipante.

Gipahigayon ang maong pagbansay aron mapalig-on ang saktong komunikasyon, koordinasyon sa nagkalain-laing ahensya, ug pagdumala sa mga kahimanan panahon sa krisis.

Pinaagi sa hugot nga suporta ni Mayor Evelyn "Belen" T. Uy, kini nga nag-unang lakang nagpakita sa lig-on nga tinguha sa Kagamhanang Lokal sa pagpalambo sa kaandamon batok sa mga katalagman ug emerhensya.
