Teachers handling English subjects from Carolina Elementary School participated in the Division Assembly of English Language Teachers: Aligning Curriculum, Planning and Practice held at Anislag National High School, Anislag, Daraga, Albay on June 5, 2026. The assembly gathered English language teachers from across the Schools Division of Albay to strengthen curriculum implementation and instructional practices in English education.
The activity was graced by Mr. Alberto E. Serrano, Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) of Daraga South District, who delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the important role of English teachers in developing learners' literacy, communication, and critical thinking skills. He also encouraged participants to remain committed to continuous professional growth and excellence in teaching.
One of the highlights of the assembly was the presentation of Ms. Mai Anne D. Rondola, Education Program Supervisor (EPS) in English of the Schools Division Office of Albay. During her discussion, she provided an in-depth overview of the Language Curriculum Framework and explained the alignment of English competencies with the Department of Education's three-term school calendar, ensuring that learning objectives and instructional plans are appropriately sequenced and delivered throughout the academic year.
Ms. Rondola also presented the End-of-School-Year Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment (CRLA) and Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) results and status of schools in Daraga South District. The presentation enabled participants to analyze literacy performance data, identify areas that require intervention, and formulate strategies to further improve reading and language outcomes among learners.
The assembly served as a valuable platform for professional learning, collaboration, and reflection among English language teachers. Through the discussions and sharing of best practices, participants gained deeper insights into curriculum implementation, assessment results, and evidence-based approaches to language instruction.
The participation of Carolina Elementary School's English teachers in the division assembly underscores the school's commitment to enhancing the quality of English language education and ensuring that instructional practices remain aligned with current educational policies and learner needs.
By engaging in continuous professional development activities such as this, educators are better equipped to provide meaningful learning experiences and support the literacy development of every learner.
