Annual Partners Recognition 2026
Theme: Champion of Hope: Together Helping Communities Thrive

On March 11, 2026, Convoy of Hope Philippines successfully held its 2nd Annual Partners Recognition at the Cultural Center, Poblacion 1, Daram, Samar, honoring the partner barangays that have actively supported and participated in the Children’s Feeding Program.

Since 2022, Convoy of Hope Philippines has been in partnership with the Municipality of Daram, working closely with local communities to address malnutrition through a holistic and sustainable approach. At the heart of this effort is the Children’s Feeding Program, complemented by nutrition-sensitive initiatives such as Women Empowerment, Agriculture, Disaster Services, and Spiritual Development.

The Annual Partners Recognition celebrates the commitment and collaboration of partner barangays whose dedication continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. This recognition not only honors their efforts but also strengthens their motivation to sustain the partnership—championing hope and helping communities thrive together.

The Municipality of Daram proudly announces a successful third-party verification under the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP)! As one of the project’s beneficiaries, Daram was evaluated by Lochan & Co with UNICEF for the Performance-Based Grant (PBG) Tranche 1 from October 20–22, 2025.

The verification team thoroughly assessed both the technical implementation and the financial processes of the project. The results were outstanding, giving the Municipality of Daram an overall average of 99.5% which translates to a 100% score for the next PBG tranche!

This outstanding achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of the Municipal Health Office, the Municipal Nutrition Action Office, and all members of the Municipal Nutrition Committee, led by our ever-active Mayor Lucia Latorre-Astorga. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the PMNP project staff for their tireless technical support. A special thank you is also extended to the Provincial Nutrition Office and the National Nutrition Council (NNC) Regional Office VIII for their steadfast support. This success is a true reflection of our shared commitment to improving the health and nutrition of all Daramnons. Congratulations to everyone who made this remarkable milestone possible!

The Municipality of Daram is proud to share the successful implementation of the Food Share Program, sponsored by Okada Foundation Inc. in partnership with Kabisig ng Kalahi. This initiative supported a total of 60 household beneficiaries, with 30 families from Brgy. Buenavista and another 30 from Poblacion 2. Over the course of three tranches distributed on May 6, June 30, and November 12, 2025. Each household received rice rations that helped ease the strain of short-term hunger.

Beyond providing food assistance, the program encouraged long-term resilience through the establishment of household and community gardens. These gardens empower families to access nutritious food on a continuous basis, reducing dependence on food aid and promoting self-sufficiency. This holistic approach reflects the shared vision of Okada Foundation Inc., Kabisig ng Kalahi, and the LGU of Daram to not only meet urgent needs but also build sustainable solutions for food security.

The Municipality of Daram extends its heartfelt gratitude to Okada Foundation Inc. and Kabisig ng Kalahi for their unwavering support and generosity. Their commitment has made a meaningful impact on vulnerable households and contributes greatly to the community’s ongoing efforts to combat malnutrition and hunger.
