Today, June 10, 2026, the Municipality of Daram successfully conducted the Ribbon Cutting and Turn-over Ceremony of the Women and Children Protection Unit (WCPU) at the Daram Center for Culture and the Arts.
The activity forms part of the project, โCasting a Wider Net: A Systems Approach for Reintegration and Support of Child Abuse Survivors in the Philippines,โ implemented by Plan International Pilipinas with the support of the German National Office.
The ceremony gathered representatives from the Local Government Unit of Daram, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, the Rural Health Unit, the Philippine National Police, Plan International Pilipinas, and other stakeholders who reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening protection mechanisms and support services for women and children, particularly survivors of abuse and violence.
A highlight of the activity was the formal turn-over of equipment and materials to the WCPU, signifying a collective effort to enhance the municipalityโs capacity to provide responsive, accessible, and survivor-centered services.
The Municipality of Daram extends its sincere gratitude to Plan International Pilipinas and all partner agencies for their unwavering support in advancing the rights, welfare, and protection of women and children.
