🚪 New Doors Opening for Agri-Sector Development! 🌾

With our official FFEDIS Registration and DA-CSO accreditation secured, BASHACO is more confident than ever about the future. These milestones unlock massive opportunities for agricultural growth, sustainable development, and stronger partnerships for our cooperative.

Beyond the organizational growth, we are excited to see how this inspires the next generation. As the path to individual stewardship and professional growth becomes clearer, we hope to encourage more youth to embrace competency-based learning and lead the future of farming!

Our Forests, Our Voice, Our Future. 💚

Deeply grateful for the opportunity to represent our CBFMA communities during the National Consultation on the Revision of DAO No. 2004-29.

Thank you to the DENR Forest Management Bureau for ensuring that local forest stewards are key partners in policy-making. When we empower communities, we secure our forests!

Rehabilitating CACAO PLANTATION for a Sustainable Future. 🌱
Today July 13, 2026 marks the official start of the rehabilitation of the BASHACO Cacao Plantation. This initiative is a vital step forward in our commitment to our CBFMA goals and objectives, ensuring that forest stewardship and sustainable agriculture go hand in hand.
Our deep gratitude to Sir Alan Faburada of NORSU - CAFF Guihulngan Campus and the Provincial Agriculture Office for their invaluable support and guidance. Together, we are turning vision into tangible action.

That was a landmark moment for the cooperative! When Senator JV Ejercito and the Negros Loop 2024 riders made Baslay Highland Brew Coffee their very first official stop on November 30, 2024, it put BASHACO’s coffee tourism directly on the national map.

Here is a commemorative narrative tailored for your institutional records, social media presence, or annual report:

From Hot Springs to Living Heritage: The Dawn of the BASHACO Arboretum

We stepped back from the Baslay Twin Hot Springs, but a far greater opportunity has arrived. The proposed ARBORETUM within the BASHACO CBFM area represents a profound shift—moving from commercial tourism to long-term ecological and community stewardship.

An arboretum does more than protect our forest; it secures our watershed, preserves native biodiversity, and creates a living classroom for the next generation of forest stewards. This is a higher calling, bringing sustainable, multi-generational value that far outweighs the potential of a hot spring. One door closes, but the forest opens up a legacy.

Protecting Life and Landscape: Why Baslay's Integrity Comes First🎴🍯🏕️🏔️🐝

BASHACO will never compromise its long-term vision and image of success by chasing short-term opportunities that put our community at risk. While the Baslay Twin Hot Spring holds undeniable ecotourism potential, it sits directly within a designated Geo-Hazard Zone. Insisting on commercial activities there poses a significant, unacceptable hazard to both life and property.

True sustainability means knowing when to step back. Therefore, all ecotourism activities at the Twin Hot Spring must be suspended permanently until further notice.
Our deepest gratitude to Acting-Mayor Alvin V. Truita for your openness, wisdom, and firm leadership in prioritizing public safety. We also extend our sincere thanks to DENR-NIR Chief of Enforcement Division, Forester Cerelino R. Baja Jr., and CENRO Dumaguete, represented by Forester Dexter Nilles, for your rigorous enforcement of Community-Based Forest Management (CBFM) policies.

Together, we stand firm in the belief that the stewardship of our forests begins with safeguarding the lives of the people who protect them.

Bridging Conservation and Agriculture 🪵🌱

Check out the newly established foot trail by CBFMA-BASHACO! Designed for easy and convenient access to our Cacao Demonstration Farm, this path is more than just a walkway—it's a connection to sustainable livelihood and a vital piece of our Agroforestry Systems. Step by step, we are making forest stewardship both productive and accessible.
