Camp Sgt. Quintin M. Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City – In another significant victory against illegal drugs, the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) led by its Regional Director PBGEN LEON VICTOR Z ROSETE in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XI and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) XI, successfully dismantled a drug den in Pantukan, Davao de Oro, leading to the arrest of three (3) High-Value Targets (HVTs) and the confiscation of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of PhP 612,000.00.

The anti-illegal drug operation was conducted on July 24, 2026, at Purok 6, Barangay Bongabong, Pantukan, Davao de Oro. The operation was jointly carried out by personnel of Pantukan Municipal Police Station, together with the PDEA Davao de Oro Provincial Office, PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team, and the NBI Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office.

Arrested during the buy-bust operation were alias β€œPongpong,” alias β€œJared,”
and alias β€œBotyok”. Meanwhile, the alleged drug den maintainer, alias β€œPaeng,” remains at large and is now the subject of a continuing manhunt operation.

Recovered during the operation were one sachet of suspected shabu, along with various drug paraphernalia, including improvised glass tooters, weighing scale, empty plastic sachets, bamboo clip sealer, cellular phone, buy-bust money, and other items used in the illegal drug trade.

The confiscated evidence was properly marked, inventoried, and documented at the scene in the presence of the arrested suspects and the required insulating witnesses in accordance with Section 21 of Republic Act No. 9165. The suspects and all seized evidence were subsequently turned over to the custody of the PDEA Davao de Oro Provincial Office for proper disposition.

The arrested individuals will face charges for violations of Sections 5, 6, 7, 13, and 14, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PBGEN ROSETE commended the operating teams and partner law enforcement agencies for the successful operation, emphasizing that dismantling drug dens is a crucial step in protecting communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs.

β€œThis successful operation demonstrates the strong collaboration among law enforcement agencies in ensuring that drug personalities and criminal networks have no place in our communities. We remain relentless in our campaign against illegal drugs and will continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations to safeguard the people of Davao Region,” PBGEN ROSETE said.

The accomplishment underscores PRO 11’s unwavering commitment to the Focused Agenda of the Chief, Philippine National Police, PGEN JOSE MELENCIO C NARTATEZ., particularly in strengthening aggressive anti-illegal drug operations through enhanced inter-agency collaboration and intelligence-driven law enforcement. Guided by the mantra, β€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman,” PRO 11 remains steadfast in its mission to keep communities safe, secure, and free from the menace of illegal drugs.

RECOVERY AND RENDER SAFE PROCEDURE OF UNEXPLODED ORDNANCE IN SABLAN, BENGUET

In line with the PNP Focus Agenda on Operational Excellence, the PNP-EOD/K9 Group, under the leadership of PBGEN ROGELIO Z RAYMUNDO, JR, Director, successfully conducted a recovery and Render Safe Procedure (RSP) of multiple unexploded ordnances, in Lower Palali, Poblacion, Sablan, Benguet.

Acting on a citizen's report received by the Duty TOC from Sablan MPS, the joint team of RECU CAR and PECU Benguet, led by PEMS Edgar Bandao, promptly dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the team identified the hazard as four (4) pieces of highly corroded MK 2 Fragmentation Hand Grenades (High Explosive) without safety levers, discovered in a residential backyard. Given the items' lethal capacity, the team expertly executed an RSP by stabilizing the ordnances in a custom wooden box to minimize hazards.

The active threats were safely transported to the PECU Benguet Headquarters Staging Area for proper safekeeping prior to final disposal. The operation concluded with zero untoward incidents, demonstrating the Group's tactical proficiency and unwavering commitment to public safety.
