July 30, 2026 – PCOL MELVIN L LAGUROS, C, RMU11, presided over the RMU 11 Staff Conference held at the Tagapaglungsad Lounge, Headquarters Regional Maritime Unit 11 (HRMU 11), Sta. Ana Pier, Monteverde Avenue, Davao City.

The conference served as a venue to review the status of ongoing administrative and logistical preparations for the upcoming 6th PHILINDO Joint Committee Meeting and 5th Maritime Law Enforcement Exercise (MARLEX), discuss forthcoming activities for the remainder of July and August 2026, reinforce the timely submission of reports, and address other operational concerns to ensure the Unit's readiness and effective coordination.

RMU 11 continues to strengthen internal coordination, enhance operational preparedness, and uphold its commitment to efficient public service and the effective enforcement of maritime laws and regulations.

FOLLOW-UP OCULAR INSPECTION CONDUCTED FOR PHILINDO MARLEX 2026

On July 29, 2026, PCOL MELVIN L LAGUROS, Chief, Regional Maritime Unit 11, together with RMU11 officers, conducted a follow-up ocular inspection at the Davao Fish Port Complex (DFPC), Brgy. Daliao, Toril, Davao City, in preparation for the 6th Philippine-Indonesia Joint Committee Meeting and Maritime Law Enforcement Exercise (PHILINDO MARLEX) 2026.

The inspection aimed to evaluate the readiness of the designated activity areas and validate the implementation of recommendations identified during the previous site inspection. The team assessed the venue layout, waterfront facilities, embarkation and disembarkation points, access routes, security deployment areas, and other critical facilities to ensure operational preparedness for the upcoming bilateral maritime exercise.

Discussions also focused on the status of administrative and operational preparations, traffic and perimeter security, crowd management, emergency response access, logistical requirements, communications, contingency measures, and inter-agency coordination.

These initiatives underscore RMU 11's commitment to ensuring the safe, secure, orderly, and successful conduct of PHILINDO MARLEX 2026, while strengthening maritime cooperation and interoperability between the Philippines and Indonesia.

R11-TWH 07 READY FOR SEA! 🌊⚓

On July 29, 2026, PCOL MELVIN L LAGUROS, Chief, Regional Maritime Unit 11, together with RMU11 officers and the HRMU 11 Boat Crew, performed a sea trial of R11-TWH 07 following the successful completion of its repairs and maintenance.

The restoration of R11-TWH 07 was initiated under the leadership of PCOL LAGUROS and made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Maritime Group's skilled mechanic, in close coordination with the Chief, Logistics, and other RMU 11 personnel whose collective expertise and commitment contributed to the successful repair and full operational capability of the Tactical Watercraft Honda.

The successful sea trial confirmed that R11-TWH 07 is now Ready for Sea, reinforcing RMU 11's commitment to maintaining mission-ready maritime assets capable of supporting maritime law enforcement, search and rescue, disaster response, and other critical maritime operations in safeguarding the country's coastal and inland waters.
