𝗗𝗔 𝗫𝗜 -𝟰𝗞 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗮 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼

In line with the continuing implementation of the Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo (4K) Program, the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office XI facilitated the delivery of 5,000 abaca plantlets on March 27, 2026 to Ata Paraiso Tularo Association (APATA) in Sitio Paraiso, Barangay Tapak, Paquibato District, Davao City.

The activity forms part of the agency’s sustained efforts to strengthen sustainable livelihood opportunities for Indigenous Cultural Communities and Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) through agriculture-based interventions. This delivery follows the capacity-building training conducted last February, where participants were provided with technical knowledge on proper abaca planting, crop management, and production practices.

The provision of planting materials marks a significant step toward the actual establishment of abaca production areas in the community, aimed at enhancing livelihood opportunities and increasing household income among the beneficiaries.

Through the 4K Program, DA XI remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering ICCs/IPs by providing responsive agricultural support services and promoting inclusive rural development.

Nagpahigayon ang DA Region XI – 4K Program og Value-Adding Training sa Cardava Banana (Banana Chips) alang sa mga miyembro sa Ata Paraiso Tularo Association, usa ka Indigenous Peoples (IP) group kaniadtong Marso 12, 2026 sa Sitio Paraiso, Brgy. Tapak, Paquibato District, Davao City.

Ang pagbansay gipangunahan ni Ms. Robelyn G. Pulido, PFT, SRS II/Training Section Head uban sa iyang team gikan sa Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Davao City, nga naghatag og aktwal nga demonstrasyon sa hustong proseso sa paghimo sa banana chips gikan sa pagpili sa saging, paghiwa, pagprito, hangtod sa pagputos sa produkto.

Pinaagi sa maong kalihokan, gilauman nga makakat-on ang mga miyembro sa asosasyon og dugang nga kahibalo sa value-adding aron mahimo kining posibleng dugang panginabuhian sa komunidad. 🍌

Ang 4K Program nagpahigayon og Training sa produksyon ug saktong pag atiman sa Abaca ug Cardava uban ang CSO Orientation niadtong Pebrero 23–24, 2025 sa Sitio Paraiso, Brgy. Tapak, Paquibato District, Davao City.

Gitamb**gan kini sa 30 ka miyembro sa Ata-Paraiso Tularo Association (APATA).

Si Mr. Nilo M. Basino, Fiber Development Officer I sa Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA), nagtudlo bahin sa hustong produksyon ug pagdumala sa abaka, ilabina sa sakto nga pagpili sa barayti ug lugar nga pagatanoman.

Ang Agricultural Cooperative Enterprise Development (ACED) Team nga gipangunahan ni Ms. Ma. Krista F. Tong naghatag og orientasyon kabahin sa Civil Society Organization (CSO) registration ug sa mga benepisyo niini alang sa asosasyon aron makadawat og dugang suporta gikan sa gobyerno.

Samtang ang City Agriculture Office - Paquibato District, nga gipangunahan ni Mr. William Belaguas, nagtuki sa hustong produksyon ug pagdumala sa Cardava banana, lakip ang sakto nga gilay-on sa pagtanom, pag-ila sa peste, ug epektib**g pamaagi batok sa sakit ug peste.

Kini nga inisyatiba nagpalig-on sa kahibalo sa mga mag-uuma ug nagpalambo sa malungtarong agrikultura sa komunidad. 🌱

"𝗣𝗮𝗱𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗴-𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮" The Department of Agriculture RFO XI, through the Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo (4K) Program, recently conducted a Joint Field Validation in the ancestral domains of the Tagakaulo ICCs/IPs in Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental, and the Blaan ICCs/IPs in Kiblawan, Davao del Sur.

In collaboration with AMAD, PMED, and RAED, and with the support of NCIP, the Provincial Agriculturist Offices of Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental, the Municipal IPMRs, and the Municipal Agricultural Offices of Kiblawan and Sta. Maria, the team evaluated the proposals submitted by the San Pedro Farmers Association, United Farmers of Kinilidan, and Bulol-Salo Farmers Association. The associations requested assistance for a corn husker sheller, an abaca spindle stripping machine, and the construction of a multipurpose hall, which were assessed for technical feasibility and economic viability.
