In line with the continuing implementation of the Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo (4K) Program, the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office XI facilitated the delivery of 5,000 abaca plantlets on March 27, 2026 to Ata Paraiso Tularo Association (APATA) in Sitio Paraiso, Barangay Tapak, Paquibato District, Davao City.
The activity forms part of the agencyโs sustained efforts to strengthen sustainable livelihood opportunities for Indigenous Cultural Communities and Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) through agriculture-based interventions. This delivery follows the capacity-building training conducted last February, where participants were provided with technical knowledge on proper abaca planting, crop management, and production practices.
The provision of planting materials marks a significant step toward the actual establishment of abaca production areas in the community, aimed at enhancing livelihood opportunities and increasing household income among the beneficiaries.
Through the 4K Program, DA XI remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering ICCs/IPs by providing responsive agricultural support services and promoting inclusive rural development.
