Strengthening Homeowners’ Knowledge and Empowering Communities

(24 September 2026) The National Housing Authority (NHA) XI-Davao Oriental/Davao de Oro District Office successfully conducted an Orientation on the Salient Features of Republic Act No. 9904 (Magna Carta for Homeowners and Homeowners Associations) and its Revised 2024 Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) for thirty (30) selected project beneficiaries of Balai Maganahay Phases 1 and 2, a project under the Housing Assistance Program for Indigenous Peoples (HAPIP), located in Barangay Dawan, Mati City, Davao Oriental.

The activity was conducted in coordination with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) XI and Barangay Dawan, Mati City, with the aim of enhancing beneficiaries’ understanding of their rights, responsibilities, and roles as homeowners, while promoting active participation in community governance and the sustainable management of their housing community.

Through initiatives such as this, the NHA and its partner agencies continue to empower beneficiaries with knowledge that contributes to organized, responsible, and resilient communities. 🏠🤝

The Community Support Services Unit (CSSU) of the Davao City/Digos City/IGACOS/Davao del Sur/Davao del Norte District Office of NHA Region XI conducted a one-day activity on Gender and Development (GAD)- Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) to thirty (30) beneficiaries of Wem Village HOA, Inc. Brgy. New Opon, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur.

The said activity was conducted on September 16, 2026 at the Conference Room Magsaysay Municipal Hall, Pob. Magsaysay, Davao del Sur.

Hon. Arthur D. Davin, Municipal Mayor of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur and Mr. Rhesty B. Camasura, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, gave their respective messages to the participants.

Ms. Pamela S. Boiser, Community Support Services Officer, was the Resource Person of the said activity. She presented the Basic Concepts of S*x and Gender, Evolution of GAD, and she also discussed the Salient Features of RA 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women, RA 8972 or the Solo Parents Welfare Act/ RA 11861 or the Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act and RA 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children.

Earlier today, three (3) fire affected families from Brgy. Lambahon, Baganga, Davao Oriental recieved ₱30,000.00 each as financial assistance under the National Housing Authority (NHA)’ Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP). The funds are intended to support the rebuilding of their damaged homes.

The distribution activity took place at the NHA Regional Office XI, located at the 2F C55 Realty Corp. Bldg., Matina Aplaya, Davao City.

Acting on behalf of Engr. Shariffudin I. Nami, Officer-in-Charge of NHA Region XI, Mr. Gerold P. Namoc, District Manager of the Davao Oriental/Davao de Oro District Office, led the activity. The event was also witnessed by representatives from Barangay Lambajon and the Baganga Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

Please be advised that the National Housing Authority (NHA) Regional Office XI, along with its District 1 Office (covering Davao City, Digos City, IGACOS, Davao del Sur, and Davao del Norte), District 2 Office (covering Davao de Oro and Davao Oriental), and Madayaw Offices, will relocate to a new location effective February 9, 2026.

The new address is as follows:
2nd Floor, Lots for Less Building Barangay Matina Aplaya, Davao City.

All housing amortization payments, concerns related to Madayaw Residences, and other transactions will be accommodated at the new office starting on this date.
