PNP DELIVERS SUSTAINED RESULTS IN SEPTEMBER NATIONWIDE OPERATIONS

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units nationwide sustained their operations against illegal drugs, loose fi****ms, wanted persons, and smuggling activities throughout September 2026, resulting in significant seizures and arrests.

From September 1 to 30, the PNP conducted 5,045 anti-illegal drug operations that led to the arrest of 5,812 persons and the confiscation of illegal drugs with an estimated street value of ₱710.66 million. Among the seized items were approximately 96.42 kilograms of shabu, 108.28 kilograms of dried ma*****na leaves, and 28,675 ma*****na plants.

The PNP also accounted for 8,447 wanted persons during the month, including 2,254 persons listed as most wanted and 6,193 other wanted persons, through operations carried out by police offices and units across the country.

In the campaign against loose fi****ms, police operations in September resulted in the arrest of 979 persons and the recovery, surrender, or confiscation of 6,381 fi****ms in violation of Republic Act 10591. Another 913 fi****ms were turned in for safekeeping, giving gun owners an opportunity to comply with the law through proper procedures.

Meanwhile, the PNP recorded 3,140 anti-smuggling operations during the month, resulting in 564 arrests and the confiscation of smuggled goods and machinery estimated at ₱1.36 billion.
Chief PNP PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the September figures reflect the importance of keeping police operations focused on actual public-safety concerns while ensuring that every action is carried out within the law.

“The numbers matter, but what matters more is how we get those results. We want our people to see police operations that are deliberate, properly coordinated, and grounded on the law. Trabaho natin ito araw-araw, and we will continue doing it with care for both public safety and the rights of every person involved,” PGen Nartatez said.

The September accomplishments form part of the PNP's Focused Agenda, particularly the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which calls for police resources and personnel to be directed toward priority concerns and operations that produce concrete results. These efforts support the administration's peace and security agenda under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The PNP will continue to sustain lawful and intelligence-guided police operations while encouraging the public to report information on illegal drugs, wanted persons, loose fi****ms, and other activities that may threaten community safety. These efforts are being carried out as part of the PNP's continuing pursuit of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”

PNP POSTS 36% DECLINE IN FOCUS CRIMES IN SEPTEMBER

Under the leadership of PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), the eight focus crimes recorded a significant decline in September 2026, with cases dropping by more than one-third compared with the same month last year.

PNP crime data showed 2,063 focus-crime cases in September 2026, down from 3,226 cases in September 2025, representing a decrease of 1,163 cases or 36.05%. From July to September 2026, the PNP recorded 7,233 cases, or 3,063 fewer cases than the 10,296 cases recorded during the same period last year, equivalent to a 29.75% decrease.

The September figures showed declines in r**e cases, from 723 in September 2025 to 309 in September 2026, or 57.62%; carnapping of motor vehicles, from 26 to 11, or 57.69%; physical injury, from 417 to 231, or 44.60%; carnapping of motorcycles, from 214 to 121, or 43.46%; theft, from 1,176 to 803, or 31.72%; robbery, from 336 to 254, or 24.40%; and homicide, from 97 to 92, or 5.15%. Murder cases, meanwhile, increased slightly from 237 to 242, or 2.11%.

The PNP attributes the continuing downward trend to a combination of sustained police visibility, focused crime-prevention operations, timely police response, and coordination with local governments and communities. The active support of the public, particularly in reporting incidents and providing information, also helps police units respond where they are needed.

These efforts are being carried out under the PNP Focused Agenda and Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), with crime data and actual conditions on the ground used to guide police deployment, visibility, and operational priorities.

“The decrease is the result of different efforts coming together—our personnel staying visible, communities reporting concerns, and police units acting on information and incidents as they come. Hindi lang ito trabaho ng pulis; malaking bahagi rin ang pakikipagtulungan ng ating mga kababayan,” PGen Nartatez said.

The Chief PNP emphasized that the figures will not be used as a reason to ease police presence, particularly in areas where certain crimes continue to occur. Police units have been directed to continue monitoring local crime patterns and adjust their deployment and prevention measures accordingly.

The PNP will sustain its coordination with communities, local governments, and other partners in support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s peace and order agenda, while continuing to deliver responsive police service under the banner of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”

CCTV TRAIL LEADS TO TWO SUSPECTS IN ₱664K QUEZON CITY JEWELRY THEFT

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police operatives in Metro Manila swiftly acted on a reported jewelry theft in Quezon City, leading to the apprehension of two male suspects and the recovery of 17 pieces of jewelry reportedly worth approximately ₱664,000.00

The suspects, a 41-year-old driver and his male helper, were identified through CCTV footage reviewed after the complainant discovered that her jewelry box was missing. The recovered items include a diamond ring, wedding ring, earrings, bracelets, a necklace, and other pieces made of gold, white gold, pearl, and diamond.

The case was promptly acted upon following the formal complaint and available evidence. The two suspects are facing a complaint for theft under Article 308 of the Revised Penal Code, with the case being processed before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the development shows the value of acting promptly when information and evidence are available.

“Naging malaking tulong ang CCTV dahil nagkaroon agad ng malinaw na lead ang ating mga pulis. From there, they did their job, followed the information, and recovered the stolen items. Kapag may report at may ebidensya, dapat mabilis tayong kumilos,” PGen Nartatez said.

The operation is consistent with the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly its Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which strengthens the timely assessment, coordination, and response of police units to reported incidents. It also supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call for responsive public service and safer communities.

The PNP likewise reminds the public to take reasonable precautions when allowing drivers, service providers, or temporary helpers access to their homes, particularly during moving or delivery activities. Prompt reporting and preservation of available evidence can help police respond more effectively.

Through sustained police-community cooperation and responsive operations, the PNP remains committed to delivering “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units in Davao Region and Kalinga conducted separate anti-illegal drug operations on October 3, 2026, resulting in the arrest of three suspects, the recovery of approximately 486 grams of suspected shabu, and the destruction of 50,250 fully grown ma*****na plants.

The suspected shabu recovered in Davao Region had a combined Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱3.3048 million, while the ma*****na plants uprooted in Kalinga had an SDP of ₱10.5 million.

In Digos City, Davao del Sur, police arrested one suspect and recovered approximately 306 grams of suspected shabu with an SDP of ₱2.0808 million. Another operation in Davao City resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of approximately 180 grams of suspected shabu with an SDP of ₱1.224 million. Two other suspects remain at large and are subject to continuing follow-up operations.

In Tinglayan, Kalinga, police personnel uprooted and destroyed approximately 50,250 fully grown ma*****na plantswith an SDP of ₱10.5 million.

Overall, the operations accounted for a combined reported SDP of ₱13.8048 million, reflecting the continuing police effort to prevent illegal drugs from reaching communities and to address activities connected to their supply.

Chief PNP PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the results show the importance of acting quickly when reliable information becomes available.

“Kapag may reliable information, hindi natin dapat pinatatagal. We have to act, coordinate, and do the job properly. The goal is simple—to stop illegal drugs before they reach our communities. That is what our police units should continue doing: stay alert, work together, and always operate within the law,” PGen Nartatez said.

The operations are part of the PNP’s Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which strengthens the use of information, coordination, and focused police action in addressing threats to public safety. These efforts complement the peace and order priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The PNP will continue to conduct lawful and coordinated anti-illegal drug operations while observing due process and the rights of all persons involved. 67 FI****MS TAKEN OUT OF LOOSE CIRCULATION IN 24-HOUR WV POLICE DRIVE

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units in Western Visayas (WV) accounted for 67 fi****ms and 12 explosives in just 24 hours, strengthening efforts to keep fi****ms out of situations where they could be used to harm people or facilitate criminal activities.

The accomplishment was recorded from 6:00 AM of October 3 to 5:59 AM of October 4, 2026, through police operations, voluntary surrender, house visitations, and coordination with fi***rm holders and communities across the region.

Of the 67 fi****ms accounted for, 60 were voluntarily surrendered, two were confiscated during police operations, and five were turned over following house visitations involving fi****ms with expired registrations. Police units also conducted 74 search warrant-related activities, one of which resulted in an arrest and the recovery of fi****ms.

The result carries added significance as fi****ms remain among the weapons commonly used in criminal activities and violent incidents. By bringing more fi****ms into police accountability—particularly through voluntary surrender and proper turnover—the campaign helps reduce the possibility that unaccounted or improperly documented fi****ms could later be used in crimes.

The sustained effort is aligned with the PNP’s Focused Agenda, particularly its Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) approach, which emphasizes verification, coordination, and appropriate police action while encouraging fi***rm holders to comply with legal requirements.

Chief PNP Gen. Nartatez said the value of the operation is not measured only by the number of fi****ms accounted for, but also by the incidents that may be prevented when fi****ms are properly documented or safely turned over.

“Every fi***rm we bring into proper accountability is a potential risk we are able to address before it becomes a problem. Hindi natin kailangang hintayin na magamit sa krimen ang isang baril bago natin ito aksyunan. When police, communities, and fi***rm holders work together, prevention becomes much more effective,” Gen. Nartatez said.

The accomplishment also supports the continuing gains of Project R.T.T. 3389 (Restrict, Track, and Turn-In), which covered all 3,389 barangays in Western Visayas and strengthened coordination among police units, local governments, barangay officials, communities, and fi***rm holders in accounting for loose fi****ms.

The PNP continues to support the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. through sustained, lawful, and community-based police operations that address potential risks before they develop into incidents. The effort reflects the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman, where police action is focused not only on responding to crime but also on preventing it.

RECENT ROBBERY-HOLDUP SUBJECT ARRESTED BEFORE FLIGHT AT NAIA

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), a timely exchange of verified information among police units and airport authorities resulted in the apprehension of a robbery-hold-up suspect at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City on October 2, 2026.

The police response began after information about a robbery-hold-up incident in Malolos City, Bulacan, on October 1 was relayed to concerned units. Subsequent validation showed that the suspect had proceeded to NAIA Terminal 3 and had checked in for a flight bound for Cagayan de Oro.

With the information confirmed, personnel of the PNP Aviation Security Group, Police Regional Office 3, and other concerned units coordinated with airport security and the airline. The joint response led to the interception of the suspect at the Domestic Departure Area before the scheduled flight.

The suspect was placed under police custody and turned over to the concerned units for documentation and appropriate legal proceedings.

Chief PNP PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized that effective policing also means making the right connections between units when information crosses jurisdictional lines.

“Hindi natatapos sa isang lugar ang trabaho ng pulis kapag may kailangang maaksiyunan. We have to connect the information, verify it, and act on it at the right time. That kind of coordination can make a real difference in keeping people safe,” PGen Nartatez said.

The operation reflects the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly its Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), through the timely validation, coordination, and deployment of police resources in response to emerging situations. It also supports the peace and security priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., especially in maintaining safe and orderly public spaces and transportation facilities.

The PNP will continue strengthening coordination among its units and partner agencies to ensure that police action remains responsive and properly guided by verified information, consistent with the commitment to a Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

HUSBAND AND WIFE AMONG DAGUPAN’S MOST WANTED ARRESTED IN CHILD ABUSE CASE

Under the leadership of PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police authorities in Dagupan City have arrested a husband and wife who were both listed among the city’s Most Wanted Persons in connection with a case involving the alleged abuse of a child.

The 49-year-old husband, ranked Top 9, and his 42-year-old wife, ranked Top 10 among the city-level Most Wanted Persons, were arrested separately on October 2, 2026, during coordinated police operations in Dagupan City.

The couple were arrested by virtue of Warrants of Arrest issued by a Regional Trial Court on September 22, 2026, for alleged violation of Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. The court set a recommended bail of ₱160,000.00 for each accused.

The PNP emphasized that the warrants were served in accordance with established procedures, with the operations properly documented and the accused informed of the nature of the warrants and their constitutional rights.

Chief PNP PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the arrests demonstrate the importance of sustained police coordination in ensuring that court processes are properly carried out, particularly in cases involving the protection of children.

“We have a duty to act when there is a valid warrant, but we also have a duty to do it the right way—with respect for the law and for the rights of everyone involved. Sa mga kasong may kinalaman sa mga bata, we must be especially careful and responsible because their protection remains a shared responsibility,” PGen Nartatez said.

The husband and wife underwent medical examination following their arrest and were subsequently placed under police custody for documentation and appropriate court proceedings.

The accomplishment is consistent with the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which promotes coordinated, accountable, and lawful police operations. It likewise supports the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in strengthening public safety and protecting vulnerable members of society.

The PNP will continue to coordinate with the courts and concerned government agencies in ensuring that cases are pursued through proper legal processes, in keeping with its commitment to the “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
