Actively executing Labor Secretary Francis N. Tolentinoโs national directive to strengthen labor inspections and strictly enforce Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) within the construction industry, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Davao del Norte Field Office spearheaded a comprehensive, joint enforcement operation across major development zones in the city today.
The strategic, multi-agency initiative simultaneously covered high-visibility infrastructure projects: a massive commercial development at an ongoing mall construction site and a critical public infrastructure expansion at a local public hospital.
The inter-agency composite teamโsteered by DOLE labor inspectors alongside representatives from the Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Pag-IBIG Fund, and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), โconducted a holistic evaluation of the operations. Moving beyond traditional standalone checks, this synchronized effort assessed three major contractors handling the sites to ensure compliance with safety protocols, structural standards, and general labor standards.
