on successfully completing the 5-day Wilderness Survival Search and Rescue (W.I.S.S.A.R) training program conducted by the BFP R11 Davao City Fire District - Special Rescue Force ,held from May 31 to June 4, 2026.

Wilderness survival search and rescue (WISSAR) training equips trainees with critical life-saving skills, resilience, and specialized knowledge to operate effectively in remote, high-risk environments. It combines practical survival techniques, medical training, navigation, and psychological preparedness to ensure both rescuers and victims can be sustained until extraction.

The event was formally opened by our District Fire Marshal, ๐…/๐’๐”๐๐“ ๐ƒ๐Ž๐๐€๐‹๐ƒ ๐‘ ๐‚๐Ž๐๐‚๐„๐๐‚๐ˆ๐Ž๐, who emphasized the importance of continuous training and preparedness in saving lives. His words inspired participants to approach the day with focus and dedication.

In the afternoon session, ๐’๐…๐Ž๐Ÿ‘ ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ค๐จ ๐…๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐จ ๐ƒ ๐Œ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง (๐‘๐„๐“) shared effective ways and techniques to strengthen learning and skill ex*****on. His session encouraged participants to not only master lifesaving skills but also to embrace practical methods of training and improvement as dedicated public servants.

With the unwavering support of the City Government of Davao, this program became more than just a refresher course. It was a collective effort to strengthen our cityโ€™s resilience. BFP-DCFD participants from different fire stations and DCFD-EMS personnel refreshed their lifesaving skills, strengthened their confidence, and renewed their readiness to respond in moments when every second matters.

The event was meaningfully closed by ๐…/๐’๐ˆ๐๐’๐ ๐…๐‘๐€๐๐‚๐„๐’ ๐Œ๐€๐‘๐ˆ๐„ ๐’ ๐’๐„๐๐ƒ๐‘๐ˆ๐‰๐€๐’, Chief Public Information Unit - Davao City Fire District ,who highlighted the value of craft mastery, professionalism, and dedication to serve the community. Her closing remarks reminded everyone that the true measure of preparedness is not only in knowledge but in the heart to serve.

Upon arrival, the DCFD-EMS duty personnel immediately assessed , catered and initiated first aid treatment. Patient was later on transported to Tibungco Doctors for further medical intervention.

If not for his safety boots, this personnel could have lost his foot.
