PANTUKAN, DAVAO DE ORO โ€” To protect farmers from climate hazards, Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) Region XI strengthened its partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pantukan during a courtesy call with Municipal Mayor Oliver D. Ceniza together with the Municipal Agriculturist, on July 17, 2026.

The meeting focused on expanding agricultural insurance coverage to protect the agricultural community of Pantukan farmers and help increase their agricultural production, particularly champion commodities such as high-value crops, livestock, and non-crop sectors including fishing boats in the municipality.

With this initiative, PCIC Region XI and the LGU of Pantukan joined forces to intensify agricultural insurance coverage, ensuring more farmers across the municipality. PCIC XI aims to expand its area visibility and actively promote accessible insurance programs designed for the needs of local farmers and fisherfolks.

In strong support of this initiative, Honorable Oliver D. Ceniza committed to look for a budget to explore a possible partnership on a credit and life-term insurance program for the farmers and its constituents.

Regional Manager II Rosalina G. Grabulan also encouraged farmers to secure their crops and assets early to build resilience against climate disruptions and unexpected yield reductions.

The courtesy call is part of PCIC Region 11โ€™s ongoing efforts to widen the reach of agricultural insurance services in Davao de Oro, especially in geographically disadvantaged areas and secure a resilient livelihood for farming and fishing communities through a strengthened partnerships with the local government.

The Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) signed a contract with SMVC Marketing for the procurement of 15 allโ€‘inโ€‘one desktop computers for its Regional Office XI on July 2, 2026.

The contract signing was witnessed by key officials including Chairperson Sammy Glenn Santos, MSD OIC Kenneth P. Sunio, Princess Loreen Paragoso, and Regional Manager Rosalina Grabulan and Ms. Sarah May V. Casino (SMVC Marketing Representative).

โ€œThis contract reflects our shared commitment to transparency, accountability, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services. Through mutual cooperation and professionalism, this project will be implemented successfully,โ€ Procurement Staff Jeric Quijance, one of the facilitators, said during the beginning of the meeting.

Ms. Casino, assured that the company is prepared to deliver the units on schedule and in accordance with the agreed specifications.

The acquisition of new computer units is expected to enhance the operational capacity of PCIC Regional Office XI, enabling staff to provide faster and more efficient insurance services to farmers and fisherfolk.

The Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) XI highlighted its latest accomplishments in safeguarding farmers and fisherfolk during an interview at Juander Radyo Mati, Davao Oriental on June 17, 2026.

One of their key accomplishments in Davao Oriental is the insurance coverage extended to 4,129 farmers and fisherfolk, protecting more than 4,600 hectares. Among them, 400 beneficiaries received government-subsidized premium support worth โ‚ฑ8.5 million. Likewise, PCIC insured 3,070 hectares of coconut farms, benefiting 3,217 farmers, who received โ‚ฑ137,000 in indemnity payments.

Majority of the beneficiaries are under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA), one of the requirements of the corporation.

โ€œLibre lang ang insurance coverage basta naka-register sa RSBSA,โ€ Regional Manager Rosalina Grabulan emphasized, underscoring the free government programs built and designed for the Filipino farmers and fisherfolks.

Meanwhile, Marketing and Sales Division Officer-in-Charge Kenneth Sunio assured the agricultural community of PCICโ€™s legitimacy, encouraging unregistered farmers and fisherfolk to visit their local offices and enroll in the RSBSA to avail of the benefits.

As a government-owned corporation, PCIC implements insurance protection for Filipino farmers and fisherfolk against losses caused by natural disasters, pests, and diseases, strengthening agricultural resilience and livelihood security across the country.

KORONADAL CITY โ€” The Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) Regional Office XI, in partnership with National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) and the Commission on Audit (COA) representatives, conducted its first-ever disposal of records through sale on July 6, 2026 at Koronadal City.

The activity, led by Admin and Finance Division Chief John Carlo I. Franilla, aimed to dispose over 500 sacks of files, dating back from 1980 to 2015. Representatives from PCIC, COA, and NAP jointly supervised the preparation, opening, and segregation of the files.

โ€œThis marks the first time PCIC RO 11 has formally disposed of records, ensuring proper documentation with the National Archives,โ€ Franilla said, noting that the initiative strengthens transparency and accountability in government recordkeeping.

Also involved in the activity were AFD staff Aillmer G. Concemino, Jolly B. Penetrante, Hannalee Sanchez, alongside COA representative Arianna Trisha G. Oraiz, and NAP Records Management Officer Lotus M. Rieta.

The disposal strictly followed the applicable rules and regulations under NAP General Circular No. 5, which provides guidelines for the disposal of valueless records in government agencies.

Following the regional officeโ€™s transfer from Koronadal City to Davao City, the office remains steadfast in making sure their paper trails and documents are properly accounted for and reported to the relevant authorities.

Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation Region XI (PCIC RO XI) distributed school supplies to all students of Katipunan Elementary School on June 3, 2026, ahead of the incoming school year.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program, PCIC distributed school supplies tailored to the grade level and needs of over 60 students. The corporation also donated items for school upkeep, including paint, a lawnmower, and other materials aimed at improving the school building and its surroundings.

Regional Manager II Rosalina G. Grabulan expressed gratitude to the community for the warm reception, wishing for their continued success in their future.

"We hope that the school supplies will help motivate the students in achieving their future goals," Grabulan said.

KES Head Evelyn Buntrosto also echoed Grabulan's sentiments on looking forward to the students' futures, thanking PCIC for extending assistance to their school
