Monthly Meeting | Office of the Deputy Mayor, Bagobo Klata Tribe

Malampusong gipahigayon sa Opisina sa Deputy Mayor sa Bagobo Klata ang monthly nga tigum uban sa mga Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives (IPMRs) ug mga Tribal Chieftains gikan sa nagkadaiyang barangay. Ang maong tigum gihimo sa Brgy. Riverside Tribal Hall.

Ang tigum nahimong maayong higayon aron mapalalom ang panag-istoryahanay, mapaminawan ang mga kabalaka ug mga sugyot sa matag lider, ug mapalig-on pa ang panaghiusa ug panagtambayayong sa atong mga komunidad.

Nalipay kita nga natapos ang maong tigum nga adunay himsog ug mabungahong diskusyon, diin ang matag usa nakahatag sa ilang mga ideya ug panan-aw alang sa kaayohan sa atong tribo. Labaw sa tanan, natapos ang tigum nga adunay panaghiusa, panagsinabtanay, ug usa ka komon nga tumong alang sa kalamboan sa atong tribu, Bagobo Klata.

Padayon ang panaghiusa ug pagtinabangay alang sa mas lig-on ug mas mauswagon nga kaugmaon sa Bagobo Klata ug sa tanang Lumad sa Dakbayan sa Dabaw. 💚❤️💛

Empowering Indigenous Communities Through Skills Development ✨

The City Government of Davao City, in partnership with TESDA, proudly celebrates the successful completion of the Dressmaking Training Program for the 11 Tribes of Davao City, which commenced on May 18, 2026 and concluded on June 1, 2026 at Binugao National High School.

This initiative provided participants with valuable dressmaking skills, opening opportunities for livelihood, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment within their respective communities. Through collaboration and commitment, another meaningful program has been successfully delivered in support of our Indigenous Peoples.

Congratulations to all the trainees, trainers, and partners who made this endeavor a success. Together, we continue to weave a brighter and more sustainable future for our Indigenous communities. ❤️🧵✂️

The search is on for the next cultural bearer and ambassadress of the Bagobo-Klata to the Hiyas sa Kadayawan.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 Must be 18 – 25 years old
 Must have a Bagobo-Klata blood
 Must be single and has not given birth to a child
 Can speak the Bagobo-Klata dialect at least the basics
 Must represent the barangay she lives or where her ancestral family originated, the IPMR or Tribal Chieftain shall endorse her for the selection process.
 Must have a good moral character, passion, and love for the tribal community.

𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐈𝐏 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞

The City Government of Davao created the Davao city Indigenous People’s Affairs Office (DC-IPAO) as a unit under the City Mayor’s Office, through Executive Order No. 14.

Davao City is a multicultural city of diverse inhabitants, including its 11 ethnolinguistic groups. In a bid to promote equality and unity, the DC-IPAO was created to cater to the needs of these ethnolinguistic groups in the city.

Led by the 11 Deputy Mayors, the new office will serve as the primary pipeline in the implementation of executive instruction, programs, and projects of the city designed to promote the welfare, growth, and development of the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) in the city.

The DC-IPAO shall also lead in preserving and developing the culture, tradition, institutions, and well-being of the 11 ethnolinguistic groups in Davao City.

Additionally, the office will serve as a medium through which ICCs/IPs can seek linkages with local and national offices for IP affairs, and as a nerve center for information for the IP groups.

The office is also mandated to participate in the peace process involving conflicts between ICCs/IPs or individuals in Davao City and the government, in cooperation with the appropriate agencies and institutions.

Bagobo Klata Community Monthly Meeting 🤝

Under our continued commitment to serve, we successfully convened our monthly meeting with our tribal leaders to discuss important matters, including the PhilHealth YAKAP Program benefits and the strengthening of our culture and traditions.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Barangay Los Amigos Tribal Council, headed by Datu Marvin Domingo, together with IPMR Arlene Suaybaguio, for hosting us. Likewise, we remain dedicated to bringing essential services closer to our fellow tribesmen through initiatives such as the PhilHealth service desk.

A beautiful beginning to history in the making. ✨
Relive the sights and sounds of the first-ever Bagobo Klata Festival Opening Salvo last November 29, 2025.

The stage came alive with a stunning performance by the Kaitula Cultural Guild, led by Mr. Domingo Borres Jr. This dedicated group of young Bagobo Klata members is on a mission: to preserve and protect our tribe’s identity through the power of performing arts and the meticulous replication of our authentic traditional clothing and accessories. 🧵✨

The celebration was made even more special with the participation of our esteemed Hiyas sa Kadayawan titleholders, who were mentored by this very same guild:
