Advisory on Academic & Work Arrangements for June 9, 2026

In light of the earthquake that affected Mindanao today and in consideration of the recent advisory issued by the City Government of Davao while the school facilities continue to undergo safety assessment by our structural engineer, the following arrangements shall be observed for tomorrow, June 9, 2026 (Tuesday):

TED Summer Classes will be conducted online (synchronous) and TED Faculty will observe WFH arrangement.
All Non-Teaching Personnel and BED Faculty Members are not required to report for work.
Enrollment activities scheduled are temporarily suspended.

The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, personnel, and other stakeholders remain the school's highest priority. These temporary measures are being implemented to ensure the safety of everyone while the necessary inspections and assessments are still being conducted.

Please await further announcements from the school administration regarding school operations on June 10, 2026, after the assessment of the facilities has been completed.

Safety begins with awareness and preparedness.

The PWC Disaster Action Team (DAT), in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection–Talomo Fire Station, conducted a Fire Safety Seminar and Actual Fire Drill that provided the PWC community with valuable insights on fire prevention, hazard identification, and risk management. Led by Guest Speaker SFO1 Magdalena M. Magsico, the activity reinforced the importance of staying informed, alert, and ready to respond in emergencies — all in the continuing effort to build a safer and more resilient campus.

𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞-𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 | With hands joined for a common cause, the TED Tree-Planting Activity, "Luntiang Davao: The PWC Environmental Sustainability Initiative through Tree-Planting," was held at Eden, Toril, Davao City. Members of the PWC academic community came together to contribute to environmental preservation and sustainability. Through this meaningful initiative, not only were seedlings planted, but also a shared commitment to caring for the environment for future generations.

Today, the 𝙏𝙀𝘿-𝙇𝙄𝘽𝙍𝘼𝙍𝙔 proudly joined and supported the 𝙇𝙐𝙉𝙏𝙄𝘼𝙉𝙂 𝘿𝘼𝙑𝘼𝙊: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙒𝘾 𝙀𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙄𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙚-𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 held at Eden, Toril, May 22, 2026.

Together, we planted 𝙍𝙚𝙙 𝙇𝙖𝙪𝙖𝙣 and 𝙇𝙖𝙪𝙖𝙣 𝙏𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙚 trees as our contribution to protecting and restoring our environment for future generations. These native Philippine trees are known not only for their strong and durable wood, but also for their vital role in preventing soil erosion, protecting watersheds, and supporting biodiversity in our forests. 𝙍𝙚𝙙 𝙇𝙖𝙪𝙖𝙣 (𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙖 𝙣𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙨) is considered a vulnerable endemic tree species in the Philippines, making every planted seedling a meaningful step toward conservation.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙚 (𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙖 𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙮𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙖) is also valued for helping stabilize soil and providing shelter for wildlife in tropical forests. Its deep roots help protect mountain slopes and forest ecosystems.

Planting a tree is planting hope, life, and a greener future for Davao.
The TED-LIBRARY remains committed in supporting initiatives that promote environmental awareness and sustainability for the community.

🇵🇭 Araw ng Kagitingan | Day of Valor 🇵🇭

Today, we remember the courage and sacrifice of Filipino and American soldiers who stood bravely during the Japanese occupation in World War II.

On April 9, 1942, thousands of soldiers endured the painful journey known as the Bataan Death March, where many lost their lives due to hunger, exhaustion, and disease. Yet even in defeat, their bravery shone—buying time for Allied forces and shaping the course of history.

Their sacrifice reminds us that true heroism is found not only in victory, but in courage, resilience, and unwavering faith in freedom.

Let us honor their legacy and carry their spirit in our lives today.

ADVISORY: Updated School Schedule (March 27 – April 4, 2026)
In view of the planned transport strike and the upcoming observance of Holy Week, please be guided by the following arrangements for the PWC Community:
🗓️ MARCH 27 (TODAY) & MARCH 28 (SATURDAY)
• Grade 12 Graduation: Will PROCEED as scheduled.
• Tertiary Education (TEd): Classes will be conducted via Online Synchronous (WFH).
• School Offices: Remain OPEN.
🗓️ MARCH 30 (MONDAY) – MARCH 31 (TUESDAY)
• TEd Classes: Continue via Online Synchronous (WFH).
• Lenten Recollection (Personnel): March 30, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Online).
• School Offices: Remain OPEN.
🗓️ APRIL 1 (WEDNESDAY) – APRIL 4 (SATURDAY)
• Holy Week Observance: Regular classes are SUSPENDED.
• School Offices: CLOSED.
Personnel who may have difficulty reporting to work due to the transport strike today may coordinate with their respective offices regarding leave applications.
