๐‹๐จ๐จ๐ค: The Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM), through Coast Guard Station Davao de Oro (CGS DDO) and Coast Guard Sub-Station Tagdangua (CGSS Tagdangua), successfully provided security and safety assistance during the MDRRMO-Pantukan Group Fun Run held on 08 July 2026 at Barangay Kingking, Pantukan, Davao de Oro.

The deployment was conducted upon the request of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO)-Pantukan in support of the National Disaster Resilience Month 2026 celebration. Prior to the event, Coast Guard personnel conducted coordination and security briefings with partner agencies to ensure a safe and organized activity.

Throughout the fun run, Coast Guard personnel were strategically deployed along the route to maintain public safety and assist participants. The event concluded successfully without any reported untoward incidents.

The successful operation reflects CGDSEM's commitment to supporting local government initiatives and promoting disaster preparedness while upholding the Philippine Coast Guard's core values of Integrity, Commitment, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (ICARE).

๐“๐จ๐๐š๐ฒ: The Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) thru Medical Service Southeastern Mindanao, in coordination with the Nursing Service Unitโ€“Southeastern Mindanao (NSSU-SEM), responded to a medical emergency at Farola Compound, Barangay Sasa, Davao City.

The patient was found unresponsive and was assessed to be suffering from a possible cardiac arrest. Responders immediately initiated Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) after confirming the absence of pulse and breathing. Oxygen therapy was administered, and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) was applied as part of the life-saving intervention.

Following the initial emergency management, the patient was promptly transported to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) for further medical evaluation and treatment.

This swift and coordinated response highlights the unwavering commitment of CGDSEM to safeguarding lives through timely and effective emergency medical services.

The newly acquired HSRB-049 is designed for rapid deployment, enabling Coast Guard personnel to respond swiftly to maritime emergencies, conduct search and rescue operations, enforce maritime laws, perform coastal security patrols, and support humanitarian assistance and disaster response missions.

The addition of HSRB-049 reflects the Philippine Coast Guard's continuing commitment to modernizing its fleet and improving operational readiness. With its speed, maneuverability, and reliability, the vessel will strengthen CGDSEM's capability to provide timely and efficient public service to coastal communities and maritime stakeholders throughout its area of responsibility.

When disaster isolates communities, every shipment of relief becomes a lifeline. Answering the call, the Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM), through its Deployable Response Groups (DRGs), successfully hauled and loaded food and non-food relief items for transport aboard BRP Malamawi to Balut Island, Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental.

The relief supplies were donated by Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Malaysia, BLIA and Sin Chew Foundation thru the National Commission for Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) in partnership with the Malaysian Government, are intended to support Muslim families affected by the Magnitude 7.8 earthquake.

In close coordination with the Office of Civil Defense XI and partner agencies, CGDSEM facilitated the safe loading of the humanitarian cargo and personnel, ensuring their onward transport aboard BRP Malamawi as part of the continuing disaster response operations.

Through this mission, CGDSEM reaffirms that beyond safeguarding the seas, the Philippine Coast Guard remains a dependable force in delivering hope, relief, and humanitarian assistance to communities when they need it most.
