Turning ideas into thriving agribusinesses, our YFC awardees are paving the way for an innovative future in Philippine agriculture.

Highlighting the role of youth in agricultural enterprise, the Department of Agriculture (DA), through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (AMAS), is featuring 16 Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) awardees from across the country at the YFC Pavilion in Agrilink, Foodlink, and Aqualink 2026 at the World Trade Center from October 8 to 10.

Representing the Davao Region is Mary Jean Sentillas, a young agri-entrepreneur and a YFC Start-up Provincial Awardee from Matanao, Davao del Sur, and the owner of Green Snacks Enterprise. From the hands of our farmers and fisherfolk to the tables of Filipino families, KADIWA ng Pangulo (KNP) continues to build stronger connections, opening markets, creating livelihood opportunities, and making quality and affordable food more accessible to communities.

Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. and Atty. Genevieve Velicaria-Guevarra officially spearheaded the opening of the 3rd Kadiwa ng Pangulo Expo 2026 at the World Trade Center on Thursday.

The event houses 54 booths featuring an array of local agricultural commodities, artisanal crafts, and regional delicacies sourced directly from farmers and producers across the country.

Farmers in Davao del Norte now have a clearer picture of what lies beneath their farms after the Mobile Soil Laboratory (MSL) of the Department of Agriculture completed its soil analysis and field deployment in the province.

The results were formally turned over to the farmers and local government units following the MSL deployment, which reached 11 local government units across Davao del Norte. These include the cities of Tagum, Panabo, and Island Garden City of Samal, and the municipalities of Asuncion, Carmen, Kapalong, New Corella, Santo Tomas, Talaingod, Braulio E. Dujali, and Sawata.

Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum), often called the "Hairy Lychee," is a tropical fruit from Southeast Asia that belongs to the Sapindaceae family. The name rambutan comes from the Malay word "rambut," meaning hair, referring to its hairy skin. It is related to the lychee and longan. It is an evergreen tree growing to about 40 to 65 feet (15 or 24 meters) tall.

It is rich in vitamin C, giving about 40% of the daily recommended amount per serving. This helps boost the immune system and keep the skin healthy.
