DAVAO CITY, October 17, 2026 — The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) successfully held its 59th General Assembly and Election of the Board of Trustees and Officers on October 17, 2026, at the SGV & Co. Office, Damosa Diamond Tower, Davao City, bringing together Members in Good Standing and respected business leaders committed to advancing Davao’s economic growth and development.

The well-attended General Assembly opened with the presentation of key annual reports, including the President’s Report by Dr. Mirasol B. Tiu, the Corporate Treasurer’s Report by Sherwin C. Lim, and the ratification of the 2026 Board Resolutions presented by Corporate Secretary Ma. Luisa R. Abaya.

Another significant highlight was the presentation of the proposed amendments to the Chamber’s By-Laws by Atty. Susan P. Cariaga, Chair of the By-Laws Committee and incumbent Chairperson of the Board. The discussions underscored the Chamber’s continuing commitment to sound governance, organizational strengthening, and responsive leadership.

The assembly culminated in the election of the 2027 DCCCII Board of Trustees and Officers, composed of business leaders representing various sectors of Davao City’s vibrant business community.

The 1st ASEAN Innovation Golf Fellowship brought together members of the Diplomatic Corps, business leaders, industry partners, and institutional stakeholders for a day of fellowship and meaningful business engagement ahead of the 1st ASEAN Innovation Summit, held back-to-back with the 28th Davao Agri-Trade Expo.

DCCCII 8th General Membership Meeting | August 28, 2026

Understanding the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP): How Data, Planning, and Public Participation Shape Our City’s Future

The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) successfully held its 8th General Membership Meeting on August 28, 2026, at the Grand Acacia Ballroom, Acacia Hotel, Davao City.

The session highlighted the vital role of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) in guiding Davao City toward sustainable, resilient, inclusive, and future-ready development.

Ms. Ruby Rose Lora, Technical Assistant I of the City Development Planning Office, shared valuable insights as Resource Speaker on how data-driven decision-making, strategic planning, and meaningful public participation contribute to responsible land use and support the development of a more livable, resilient, and competitive city.

The discussion provided DCCCII members with a deeper understanding of how effective land-use planning can create opportunities for sustainable economic growth while addressing the evolving needs of businesses, communities, and the city as a whole.

The event also featured the President’s Report, providing members with updates on the Chamber’s initiatives, activities, and continuing efforts to advance the interests of the Davao business community.

The gathering also welcomed AGX EXPRESS PHILIPPINES, INC., represented by its General Manager, Mr. Rory S. Cunan, who was formally inducted as a new DCCCII member. The induction marks another step in strengthening the Chamber’s growing network of businesses committed to collaboration and shared progress.

The 8th GMM further provided meaningful opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, reinforcing DCCCII’s commitment to empowering its members and fostering an environment where businesses can connect, learn, and continuously grow.

🌏 Strengthening Yunnan–Mindanao Business Linkages | From Dialogue to Opportunity

The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) joined the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) in welcoming a high-level delegation from Yunnan Province, China, in a strategic dialogue focused on advancing trade, investment, connectivity, and business-to-business cooperation between Yunnan and Mindanao.

Leading the DCCCII delegation was President Dr. Mirasol B. Tiu, together with Executive Vice President Xavier Eric B. Manalastas; Vice President for ICT Dr. Maria Lourdes G. Monteverde; Vice President for Agribusiness Cherrylin B. Casuga; Trustee Ruben L. See; Secretary General-General Manager Mary Antonette D. Doromal; and the Chamber’s key sectoral chairpersons representing Legal Atty. Rollie Dumalag, Manufacturing , ICT Talent Development William Wijangco, Fertilizers Dom Subang, Wholesale and Retail Trade Dexter So, and Shipping Arrastre/Stevedoring Gwen Vellases.

Representing MinDA were Chairperson and Secretary Leo Tereso A. Magno, Executive Director Usec. Janet M. Lopoz, and Investment Promotion and Public Affairs Office Director IV Rodrigo B. Giducos, who presented Mindanao’s economic strengths, investment opportunities, and the agency’s role in facilitating strategic investments and regional business linkages.

The Yunnan delegation, led by Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province Deputy Director General Ma Jun, brought together government officials and business leaders from key sectors including agriculture, food, technology, trade, e-commerce, and tea.

Discussions identified promising opportunities across agribusiness, food processing, renewable energy, tourism, logistics, and other strategic industries, with particular interest in agricultural products, fresh-cut flowers and vegetables, seasonal fruits, processed food, beef, cargo connectivity, and direct air links.

For DCCCII, the engagement is more than an exchange of introductions—it is an opportunity to convert conversations into commercial partnerships, market access, investment flows, and long-term economic cooperation.

DCCCII President Dr. Mirasol B. Tiu reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to helping create stronger bridges between Mindanao enterprises and international markets. As part of this commitment, DCCCII invited the Yunnan delegation to participate in the upcoming ASEAN Innovation Summit, to be held back-to-back with the Davao Agri Trade Expo this September 2026.

The invitation provides a strategic platform for Yunnan enterprises to meet Philippine businesses, explore investment and trade opportunities, identify potential partners, and build sustainable business relationships.

A proposed Memorandum of Agreement between DCCCII and Yunnan Province, facilitated through MinDA, was likewise discussed as a potential framework for strengthening sustained business-to-business cooperation, trade promotion, investment facilitation, and market linkages.

💼 The direction is clear: stronger connectivity, two-way trade, strategic investment, and partnerships that create value for both regions.
