In today's rapidly evolving workplace, businesses face a common challenge: attracting, integrating, and retaining talent across multiple generations from Baby Boomers and Generation X to Millennials and Generation Z.

As part of its commitment to supporting the growth and competitiveness of the business community, the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) successfully conducted its 5th General Membership Meeting on May 29, 2026, at the Grand Regal Hotel Davao.

With the theme "Workforce Integration Gap and Retention Strategies for the New Generation", the Chamber provided a valuable platform for business leaders, entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders to gain practical insights on bridging generational differences, fostering collaboration, and building a more engaged and resilient workforce.

We were honored to have Dr. Marie Joyce Tupas, the COPERS Director of Ateneo de Davao University, as our resource speaker, who shared expert perspectives on how organizations can harness the strengths of every generation, from the wisdom and experience of Baby Boomers and Generation X to the innovation, adaptability, and digital fluency of Millennials and Generation Z.

At DCCCII, we believe that empowering businesses with relevant knowledge and meaningful connections is key to building a stronger, future-ready economy. Through initiatives like these, the Chamber continues to catalyze business growth, innovation, and workforce development in Davao and beyond.

On the evening of May 24, 2026, the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) successfully hosted the first-ever DCCCII Pickleball Open Play Fellowship at Paddle Yard, Diversion Road, Buhangin, Davao City, bringing together Davao Chamber Members who are pickleball enthusiasts, partners, and guests for an exciting night of fun, wellness, and meaningful fellowship.

The event was made even more special by the presence and support of our DCCCII Board of Trustees and members: President Mirasol B. Tiu, Corporate Secretary Maria Luisa R. Abaya, Corporate Treasurer Sherwin C. Lim, Vice President Cherrylin B. Casuga, Vice President Jennifer Ellen Dumlao, Vice President Marilou W. Ampuan, Trustee Manellie M. Sabroso, Mr. Victor Navales, and Secretary General–General Manager Mary Antonette Doromal, together with our valued Davao Chamber members and guests, whose presence made the fellowship meaningful.

This milestone event would not have been possible without the dedicated support and seamless organization of Tee to Green Events, led by Mr. Paul Garcia. We also extend our deepest gratitude to our valued sponsors: Davao Light and Power Co., DITO Telecommunity Corp., Pocari Sweat (Philippines), and the Davao City Water District.

More than just a sporting event, the fellowship reflects the Chamber’s continued commitment to promoting wellness, camaraderie, and stronger connections within the community—building relationships that extend beyond the workplace.

From exciting rallies to shared laughter and new friendships, the fellowship highlighted the growing community of people who love pickleball—or those who simply wanted to try and enjoy the sport for the first time. Thank you to everyone who joined and made this milestone event truly memorable and successful!
