Did you know that Brgy. Sta. Fe in General Luna has a small islet called βPangitlogan,β a local word that means a nesting site of sea turtles? π’ποΈ A beautiful reminder that these islands have long been home not only to people, but also to marine wildlife that continue to seek refuge along our shores.
Today, 34 new SEAguardians from Brgy. Sta. Fe joined our Sea Turtle Awareness Workshop, learning about conservation, marine wildlife protection, and the importance of caring for the ocean that surrounds and sustains island communities. The day ended with a heartfelt art poster activity where participants and island kids expressed their love for the sea and their dreams for a protected Siargao. π¨
This journey would not be possible without the unwavering support of the Municipality of General Luna headed by Hon. Mayor Jonhson Sajulga, the MENRO Office headed by Engr. Kent Pantolla, and especially the officials of Brgy. Sta. Fe led by Hon. Leonilita Corp, together with the barangay councilors, fisherfolk, and community members who warmly welcomed and supported this initiative.
