Dawis National High School boosts spiritual growth through "Project Faith in Action"
By Job Israel
Digos City, Davao del Sur β Dawis National High School (DNHS), in collaboration with its School Governance Council (SGC), has launched "Project Faith in Action," a comprehensive program aimed at fostering spiritual growth and moral values among students and faculty. The initiative, which integrates weekly God's messages into the school routine, commenced in June 2025 and will continue throughout the academic year. Spearheaded by Bishop Jojit P. Villacura, co-chair of the SGC, the project seeks to inspire, motivate, and guide students in their personal and academic lives through regular spiritual reflections.
Recognizing the importance of spiritual well-being, DNHS aims to shape the character and values of its students through this innovative approach. "Project Faith in Action" includes two key components: - Weekly Monday Flag Ceremony: Every Monday, Pastora Cherylou Guinogom-Dalagonan, General PTA President delivers a brief God's message or reflection during the flag ceremony. These messages focus on themes such as kindness, integrity, perseverance, and respect, setting a positive tone for the week ahead. - Thursday Sectional God's Message.
Each class section dedicates time every Thursday for a short devotional or spiritual reflection led by a member of Domah House of Worship Intl. Inc. These messages align with the weekly theme introduced during the Monday ceremony, reinforcing the lessons on a more personal level. The program utilizes printed reflection guides, Bible verses, and multimedia presentations to engage participants. All students, teachers, school staff, and members of Domah House of Worship Intl. Inc. are actively involved in the initiative. DNHS believes that integrating faith-based messages into the school environment provides moral guidance, strengthens values, and encourages positive behavior among students. The expected outcome is an enhanced moral and spiritual awareness throughout the school community. Located in Purok Maya-Maya, Digos City, DNHS continues to seek innovative ways to support the holistic development of its students.
Other members of the Domah House of Worship who teach regularly are Pastora Jean Villacura, Pastor Richard Joseph Christian, Carmelita C. Christian, Pastor Steve Bryan Baba, Mitzi Darryl Baba, Pastora Rechel Baba, Pastor Ricardo Latasa, Pastora Merlinda Latasa, Pastora Cherylou Dalagonan, and Miss Kim Dalagonan.
