The Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Digos City, specifically through the Digos Oriental District, successfully conducted a targeted orientation for educators focused on DepEd Order No. 9, series of 2026 under the supervision of ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐๐ž๐ข๐ฅ ๐ƒ. ๐๐จ๐ง๐ ๐œ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐จ. This was held on May 14, 2026, at Aplaya Elementary School. The one-day event aimed to thoroughly unpack the newly mandated Three-Term School Calendar in Basic Education. This strategic transition represents a major shift in the local educational framework, requiring administrators and teachers alike to realign their operational and instructional methodologies for the upcoming academic cycles.
The orientation commenced with an opening program designed to ground the participants in the mission of the day. ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐‰๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฒ ๐. ๐’๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ž, the School Head of Aplaya Elementary School, offered the words of welcome to the attending educators. ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐๐ž๐ข๐ฅ ๐ƒ. ๐๐จ๐ง๐ ๐œ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐จ, the Public Schools District Supervisor, then delivered the statement of purpose, underscoring the critical necessity of understanding and effectively executing the fresh administrative directives to ensure a seamless transition for the student body.
The different sessions were led by the brilliant speakers of Digos Oriental District school heads. The morning sessions of the orientation proper plunged directly into the foundational logistics of the new policy. ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐‰๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฒ ๐. ๐’๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ž and ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐„๐๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ ๐…. ๐๐š๐œ๐ฎ๐š led the initial block on the Three-Term Calendar, guiding teachers through the practical crafting of updated class programs. This was immediately followed by an intensive session on lesson planning spearheaded by ๐Œ๐ซ๐ฌ. ๐Œ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ง ๐“. ๐’๐š๐ฅ๐›๐จ๐ซ๐จ, where participants actively worked on crafting lesson plans utilizing the ILAW Framework. Teachers from different schools were given tasks to have outputs and somehow share them with everybody.
Following the lunch break, ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐€๐›๐๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐†๐š๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ ๐Œ. ๐ƒ๐ž ๐†๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฆ๐š๐ง and ๐Œ๐ซ๐ฌ. ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฐ๐ž๐ง๐๐š ๐†. ๐‡๐š๐ข๐ซ๐ข๐ฅ initiated a critical discussion on the revised assessment and grading system to ensure grading metrics remain robust under the new calendar structure as well as reinforcing the standards required for learnerโ€™s evaluation. The matrix then diversified into specialized educational programs and contingency strategies. ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐€๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ง ๐‰๐จ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฉ๐ก ๐Œ๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ก๐š๐ฒ discussed the implementation of the Flexible Learning Program, while Mr. Rowelem Rosima tackled Education in Emergencies, raising vital awareness regarding education continuity measures during unforeseen crises. These segments collectively focused on building classroom resilience and adaptability.
The final stretch of the orientation targeted senior high school parameters and future curriculum integration. ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐‘๐ž๐ฑ ๐‚. ๐’๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง detailed the key features of the Strengthened Senior High School Program, while ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐‘๐ž๐ง๐š๐ญ๐จ ๐ƒ. ๐‚๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง concluded the presentation line-up by teaching the guidelines and implementation of Work Immersion.
The event wrapped up with an interactive open forum, allowing teachers, specifically the teachers of Pedro S. Garcia Elementary School, to clarify operational nuances before the official adjournment at 4:00 PM, marking a collaborative step forward for the Digos Oriental District.

A Day of Triumph: Celebrating Graduation and Moving Up

March 31, 2026 marked a day of celebration and pride at the school, as learners and parents gathered for two meaningful milestones. The Grade 6 Graduation Rites carried the theme, โ€œFilipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character,โ€ serving as a reminder of the values and skills the students have gained throughout their elementary years. It was a moment of recognition for their hard work and their readiness to take on the next stage of their academic journey.

The highlight of the Grade 6 program was the guest speaker, Engr. Jan Kate Neรฑa Aniรฑon, who shared her personal experiences from her own school days. Her stories resonated with the graduates, offering lessons about perseverance, discipline, and the importance of character in achieving success. The learners truly gained insights from her words, making the ceremony not just a celebration but also an opportunity for reflection and inspiration.

Following this, the Kindergarten Moving Up Ceremony brought joy and excitement as the youngest learners marked their first step forward in education. Their cheerful presence reminded everyone that learning begins with curiosity and play, and that even at this stage, the theme of competence and character is already being nurtured. Parents proudly watched their children take part in the ceremony, knowing it was the beginning of many more achievements to come.

The event was further honored by the presence of distinguished guests: Assistant School Division Superintendent, Dr. Maria Genevieve T. Francisquete, CID Chief, Dr. Beverly S. Daugdaug, and Division Nurse Sir Russel Kevin Maurin. Their attendance gave weight to the occasion and showed strong support for the learners and the school community. Their encouragement added to the festive yet meaningful atmosphere of the day.

Everything ran smoothly, from the speeches to the awarding of certificates, thanks to the careful planning and dedication of the teachers. The effort put into the program was evident in every detail, making the ceremonies both memorable and successful. The learners and parents left with a sense of pride and gratitude for the schoolโ€™s commitment to excellence.

At the heart of it all was the leadership of the school principal, Maโ€™am Norwenda G. Hairil, whose guidance ensured the success of the day. With the teamwork of the teachers and the support of the honored guests, the Graduation Rites and Moving Up Ceremony became more than just eventsโ€”they were celebrations of growth, resilience, and hope for the future. Truly, it was a day that reflected the spirit of the school community.
