The Department of Trade and Industry โ Davao del Sur Provincial Office continues its weekly monitoring of prices and supply of basic necessities and prime commodities (BNPCs) to safeguard consumers and ensure compliance with Suggested Retail Prices (SRPs) and fair-trade practices across the province.
Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7581 or the Price Act, DTI regularly monitors the following manufactured and processed goods:
Basic Necessities: canned sardines, processed milk, instant coffee, bread, salt, cooking oil, laundry soap, detergent, and candles
Prime Commodities: canned meat, vinegar, soy sauce, fish sauce, toilet soap, and batteries
๐ Monitoring Results (May 27โJune 2, 2026):
Prices of BNPCs remain generally stable
Retail establishments report adequate supply, supported by regular distribution
No incidents of overpricing, hoarding, or profiteering were observed
DTI Davao del Sur reminds retailers to strictly adhere to published SRPs and encourages consumers to remain vigilant, avoid panic buying, and promptly report any irregularities to the nearest DTI office.
