DIGOS CITY, Agosto 5, 2026 – Nakadawat ug dugang suportang pinansyal ang mga barangay sa Digos City pinaagi sa Support to Barangay Operations and Services (SBOS) Program atol sa distribution ceremony nga gihimo kagahapon sa Digos City Gymnasium.

Ang matag kwalipikadong barangay nakadawat ug ₱500,000 hangtod ₱800,000, depende sa ilang gisumiteng mga proyekto ug pagtuman sa gikinahanglang mga rekisitos.

Matud ni Vice Mayor Atty. Johari Baña, ang SBOS assistance dugang pa sa regular nga ₱1 milyon nga ayuda nga gihatag sa matag barangay aron matubag ang ilang nagkalain-laing panginahanglan.

Samtang, gipahibalo ni City Mayor Josef Fortich Cagas nga adunay laing ₱2 milyon nga assistance ang matag barangay alang sa ilang mga prayoridad nga infrastructure projects.

Gipasalamatan usab ni City Councilor Liza M. Cagas ang mga opisyal sa barangay ug gipasiugda ang responsableng paggamit sa pondo aron masiguro nga kini magamit sa mga programa ug proyekto nga direktang makatampo sa kalamboan sa matag komunidad.

Ang SBOS Program gipondohan pinaagi sa Local Government Development Fund (LGDF) nagtumong sa pagsuporta sa mga prayoridad nga programa ug proyekto sa mga barangay aron mapalig-on ang ilang operasyon ug mapaayo ang paghatag sa batakang serbisyo. Pinaagi niini, padayon nga gipalig-on sa City Government of Digos ang kapasidad sa mga barangay sa pagpalambo sa ilang mga komunidad ug sa paghatag ug mas episyenteng serbisyo alang sa mga Digoseño.

DIGOS CITY, August 5, 2026 – Seventy members of the Digos City Mountain Guides Association began a two-day annual refresher course and renewal training on Wednesday as the City Government of Digos strengthened efforts to promote safe, professional, and environmentally responsible tourism.

Organized by the City Tourism Office, the training is being held at the Dawis Heritage Wharf Function Hall in Barangay Dawis and aims to update the mountain guides' knowledge and skills in visitor safety, customer service, emergency response, and environmental stewardship.

City Councilor Hon. Liza M. Cagas, Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism, Culture and the Arts, and Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Mt. Apo Natural Park (DENR-MANP) Protected Area Supervisor (PASu) Clint Michael B. Cleofe attended the opening program and expressed their support for the continuous development of the city's mountain guides.

In her message, Councilor Cagas thanked the mountain guides for their dedication to promoting Digos City as a premier ecotourism destination. She encouraged them to remain committed to excellence by providing quality service, ensuring the safety of visitors, and serving as responsible ambassadors of the city.

The opening day featured a session on the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) facilitated by Cherry Faye B. Al-ag, Chief Organizational Officer of the Al-ag Group of Companies. The seminar highlighted the importance of quality customer service, hospitality, and delivering memorable tourism experiences rooted in Filipino values.

The training continues on August 6 with sessions on Basic Life Support (BLS), Leave No Trace (LNT) principles, and Land Navigation and Map Reading, equipping participants with essential skills in emergency preparedness, environmental conservation, and outdoor navigation.

The annual refresher course forms part of the City Government's continuing efforts to enhance the competence of local mountain guides, improve visitor safety, and uphold sustainable tourism standards in Digos City, particularly within the Mt. Apo Natural Park tourism area.

DIGOS CITY, August 4, 2026 – A proposed Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program housing project is set to rise in Barangay Dulangan as the City Government of Digos held discussions with KYC Companies on the project's plans and implementation during a presentation at the City Mayor's Office Conference Room on Tuesday.

City Mayor Josef Fortich Cagas actively participated in the discussion, raising key questions and providing insights on the proposed development, particularly on its implementation, sustainability, and the needs of prospective beneficiaries.

Joining the Mayor were City Councilors Michael Latasa and Xymber "King" Latasa, who expressed the City Government's support for the initiative, including the necessary legislative measures that may facilitate the project's implementation.

The presentation also enabled concerned offices and stakeholders to discuss the project's technical, legal, and planning requirements under the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD)'s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

Representatives from the City Housing and Relocation Office, City Legal Office, Office of the City Planning and Development Coordinator, City Engineering Office and officials of Barangay Dulangan also attended the meeting.

Once realized, the proposed 4PH housing project is expected to provide more affordable and decent housing opportunities for qualified Digoseño families while supporting the City's goal of building safe, sustainable, and inclusive communities.

DIGOS CITY, August 4, 2026 – While continuing to provide regular social services to Digoseños, the Office of the City Mayor welcomed the outgoing Provincial Director of the Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office (DSPPO), marking another testament to the strong partnership between the local government and law enforcement in promoting peace, order, and public safety.

City Mayor Josef Fortich Cagas attended the exit conference of outgoing DSPPO Provincial Director PCol Leo T. Ajero at the City Mayor's Office on Tuesday.

PCol Ajero was joined by Digos City Police Station Chief PLtCol Norman Yparraguirre and members of the Digos City Police Station, including personnel who were recognized for their exemplary performance in law enforcement.

The exit conference served as an opportunity to recognize PCol Ajero's leadership and dedicated service while reaffirming the continued collaboration between the City Government of Digos and the Philippine National Police in ensuring the safety and security of the community.

Despite the official engagement, the Office of the City Mayor continued its regular Tuesday operations, attending to the various concerns, requests, and social service needs of Digoseños as part of its commitment to responsive and people-centered public service.
