The Department of Labor and Employment XI โ€“ Davao del Sur Field Office holds the Blessing and Turnover Ceremony of the Newly Renovated San Isidro Day Care Center today, June 02, 2026, at the Day Care Center Classroom, Brgy. San Isidro, Kiblawan, Davao del Sur.

The activity is graced by DOLE XI Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy, Davao del Sur Field Office Provincial Director Leo Ariel A. Pepino, Municipal Mayor of Kiblawan Hon. Carl Jason B. Rama, Senior LEO and SAP Officer Harlie May T. Pedroso, Barangay Captain Julito C. Gasing, and the District Tripartite Council representatives. The renovation was made possible through the initiative of DOLE XI โ€“ Davao del Sur Field Office, in partnership with the District Tripartite Council of the Davao Mill District under its โ€œBatang Malayaโ€ Campaign, and with the full support of the Barangay Council of Barangay San Isidro.

This newly renovated facility stands as a symbol of unity, collaboration, and shared commitment to providing children in the community with a safer, more conducive, and child-friendly learning environment. Through this initiative, DOLE XI continues to strengthen its advocacy for the welfare, protection, and development of children and families in local communities.

Three community-based associations in Magsaysay and Bansalan, Davao del Sur received livelihood materials, equipment, and tools from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI on May 21, 2026, providing new opportunities for income generation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable community development.

The simultaneous livelihood awarding benefited the Hugpong Kababaehan Maibo Association (HUKAMAAS), Maibo Magsasaka Association (MAMAAS), and Sampaloc Candle Making Association (SCMA), with each group receiving livelihood assistance worth Php 500,000 under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).

The awarded projects included a Portable Mini Fuel Gas Station for HUKAMAAS, provision of tools, materials, and equipment for a Bakeshop Business for MAMAAS, and a Candle Making Business for SCMA. Present during the awarding were DOLE XI โ€“ Davao del Sur Field Office Provincial Director Leo Ariel A. Pepino, LEO III/DILEEP Focal Eizarina Roselle G. Delos Santos, Municipal Mayor of LGU Magsaysay Hon. Engr. Arthur D. Davin, PESO Manager of Magsaysay Leonile P. Escarpe, and PESO Manager of Bansalan Cory B. Chatto.

The activity highlights DOLE XIโ€™s continuing commitment to empowering marginalized workers and community organizations by providing livelihood opportunities that promote self-reliance, economic resilience, and sustainable sources of income. Through strengthened partnerships with local government units and community stakeholders, DOLE XI continues to bring programs closer to the people and support inclusive growth in communities across Davao del Sur.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI โ€“ Davao del Sur Field Office strengthened its commitment to bridging education and employment through the signing of Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) and installation of new Job Placement Offices (JPOs) at Mary Mediatrix of All Graces Academy, Inc. on May 21, 2026, and earlier at UM Bansalan College (UMBC) on April 23, 2026.

The initiative was led by DOLE XI โ€“ Davao del Sur Field Office Provincial Director Leo Ariel A. Pepino and Senior Labor and Employment Officer and Employment Focal Garneth S. Lucero, together with Provincial PESO Manager Rolly M. Impas, PESO Manager of Digos City Shany Lou R. Solatorio, PESO Manager of Magsaysay and APEMA President Leonile P. Escarpe, School Administrator Janet W. Capoy, and Job Placement Officer Richard A. Depalubos, Jr. Present during the UMBC MOA signing were PESO Manager of Bansalan Cory B. Chatto, Director Dr. Jenny T. Hernan, and Job Placement Officer Robbie Jean S. Dumagsa.

The partnership aims to enhance employment facilitation services, provide career opportunities, and strengthen institutional collaboration in support of students and graduates. Through the establishment of Job Placement Offices, DOLE XI and its partners continue to empower future jobseekers by bringing employment programs, career guidance, and labor market opportunities closer to schools and communities across Davao del Sur.

One hundred owners and representatives of micro-establishments gained valuable insights and practical guidance during the Technical Advisory Visit (TAV) Orientation conducted on May 21, 2026, at the Municipal Gym, Poblacion, Malalag, Davao del Sur.

Facilitated by Senior Labor and Employment Officer Ms. Celia G. Duo of the DOLE XI โ€“ Davao del Sur Field Office, with the steadfast support of Mr. Juanzo G. Calumpong, PESO Manager of Malalag, the activity equipped participants with essential knowledge on labor standards compliance, workplace productivity, and sustainable business practices.

The orientation highlighted DOLEโ€™s continuing commitment to empowering micro and small enterprises by providing technical assistance and client-centered services that promote compliance, productivity, and worker protection. Through initiatives like this, DOLE XI continues to strengthen local enterprises and support inclusive economic growth in communities across Davao del Sur.

The Family Welfare Stakeholders (FWS)-Davao del Sur successfully conducted its 1st and 2nd Quarterly Planning and Assessment Activity on May 20, 2026, at Jerry Lorenzo Hall, Coronon, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. The activity gathered members, stakeholders, and partner institutions in a collaborative effort to strengthen workplace family welfare programs and promote healthier, more supportive, and family-friendly work environments across the province.

Key persons present during the activity included Ms. Celia G. Duo, Family Welfare Program (FWP) Focal Person; Ms. Abegial Angi; Mr. Joemil S. Montebon, Executive Director of SCSFI; Ms. Krystine Nona Elizalde of MCDC; Ms. Gertrudes T. Rosal, FWS President; Ms. Irma Mae Bayao, FWS Vice-President; and Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Mr. Carey Jun P. Montero from the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB).

The activity featured discussions on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the PhilHealth YAKAP Program, DOLE updates on workplace compliance and employee welfare, the Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009, and ILO Convention C190 or the Violence and Harassment Convention, 2019. One of the major highlights of the activity was the advocacy session on Labor-Management Cooperation and Grievance Machinery delivered by NCMB Supervising LEO Mr. Carey Jun P. Montero, which emphasized the importance of promoting harmonious workplace relations, open communication, and effective grievance mechanisms in establishments.

Through meaningful discussions, planning sessions, and stakeholder collaboration, the activity reaffirmed the commitment of Family Welfare Stakeholders (FWS)-Davao del Sur and its partners to continuously strengthen programs that uplift workersโ€™ welfare and improve workplace environments. DOLE XI โ€“ Davao del Sur Field Office remains steadfast in supporting initiatives that promote the well-being, dignity, and protection of workers and their families.
