The Advanced Science and Technology Institute is an agency of the DOST mandated to undertake research and development activities aimed at strengthening and modernizing ICT and microelectronics. The Advanced Science and Technology Institute (ASTI), created through Executive Order No. 128 on January 30, 1987, is one of the research and development agencies under the Department of Science and Technol

ogy (DOST), tasked to provide direction and lead the national R&D initiatives in information and communications technology (ICT) and electronics. It is mandated to undertake long-term researches to strengthen and modernize the Philippines' science and technology infrastructure; conduct R&D work in the advanced fields of studies; and complement the overall endeavor in the scientific field with intensive activities in computer and information technologies. DOST-ASTI is a dynamic and a constant evolving organization that is able to adapt to the advances of research and education, as well as the paradigm shift in research collaboration. Its organizational structure, which is function-based, provides more focus in its programs, and at the same time, accord significant contributions to the scientific community.

[TALES FROM THE FIELD] Field Testing of a Rapidly Deployable Antenna Mast (RAM) v2.0 for REIINN's LokalFi technology earlier today in Anonang Elementary School, Brgy. Anonang, Mulanay, Quezon Province.

The DOST MIRDC developed the RAM v2.0 to support the DOST-ASTI's Resilient Education Information Infrastructure for the New Normal-REIINN.
