September 01, 2026 || CAGDIANAO, Dinagat Islands โ€“ The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) โ€“ Province of Dinagat Islands, in partnership with the Provincial Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (PEDIPO), continued the REMEDY program for Micro Businesses: Mentoring and Coaching activities through Modules 3 and 4, focusing on Marketing and Visual Merchandising, at Blessed-Bradgette Resort, Poblacion, Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands.

The event gathered participants from the Municipalities of Dinagat and Cagdianao, offering micro-business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs practical knowledge and strategies to improve their marketing techniques, enhance product presentation, and strengthen their business skills.

Mr. Victor N. Madlangbayan acted as the resource speaker, discussing key topics on Marketing and Visual Merchandising. The session provided valuable insights into effectively promoting products, understanding the importance of proper presentation, and creating attractive displays that attract customers and boost marketability.

The workshop was facilitated by PEDIPO, creating an interactive and engaging environment where participants exchanged experiences, participated in discussions, and applied the concepts learned.

As part of the ongoing REMEDY for Micro Businesses program, this activity further solidified DTI and its partnersโ€™ commitment to providing accessible mentoring and coaching opportunities for micro entrepreneurs. Through these sessions, participants acquire practical knowledge and skills to improve their businesses and support inclusive local economic growth.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) โ€“ Province of Dinagat Islands conducted the Bandilyo Alang sa Dinagatnong Konsumador Advocacy Program, โ€œTanong Ko, Kaalaman Mo,โ€ and Consumer Education and Information (CEI) Dissemination, collectively known as the BTC Roving Advocacy Initiative, in Barangay Melgar, Basilisa, Dinagat Islands.

The initiative aimed to increase consumer awareness and empower residents, especially those in island communities, by providing relevant and practical information on consumer rights, responsibilities, consumer protection laws, and the government agencies that can assist with consumer concerns and complaints.

Participants were also informed about products that require mandatory certification and the importance of buying certified products to ensure quality, safety, and consumer protection.

Through this activity, DTI was able to bring consumer education closer to the community, making essential consumer information more accessible to residents in remote areas. The initiative served as a platform to promote informed consumer choices, encourage responsible practices, and strengthen public understanding of consumer welfare and protection.

An overview of the REMEDY program was presented by Engr. Grace M. Villapando, MPM of PEDIPO, highlighting the programโ€™s role in supporting micro businesses through mentoring, coaching, and practical learning activities.

Mr. Victor N. Madlangbayan served as the resource person, discussing key topics such as Entrepreneurial Mind Shifting, Values Formation, and Merchandising. His discussions inspired participants to develop a growth mindset, reinforce their values as entrepreneurs, and apply practical strategies for effective product presentation and management.

The workshop was facilitated by PEDIPO, providing an interactive platform for participants to share experiences, learn from one another, and implement the concepts discussed during the activity.

Through the REMEDY for Micro Businesses program, DTI and its partners continue to empower micro entrepreneurs by offering accessible mentoring and coaching opportunities, helping to strengthen their businesses, improve entrepreneurial skills, and foster inclusive local economic growth.
