STATEMENT OF THE PROVINCIAL DIRECTOR

The Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO) issues this statement regarding a video posted on social media about an incident that transpired at about 9:00 AM on February 19, 2026, at Barangay San Francisco, Pagadian City, wherein an individual wearing a PNP athletic uniform was flagged down by personnel of the Land Transportation Office Region 9 for alleged traffic violations.

This PPO together with NAPOLCOM 9 is already conducting an investigation regarding this matter and assures the public that appropriate actions will be undertaken in accordance with existing rules and regulations.

ZSPPO remains steadfast in our commitment to accountability, discipline, and professionalism at all times and strictly upholds compliance with all traffic laws among its personnel and NO member of the PNP is above the law and are subject to lawful apprehension.

ZSPPO calls on the public to remain calm and allow the investigation to proceed without prejudice. We assure everyone that transparency and due process will be observed, and whoever the personnel found liable will be dealt with accordingly.

PRESS STATEMENT of Police Regional Office 9 on the Viral Video of a Personnel Evading LTO Checkpoint

The Police Regional Office 9 (PRO 9) addresses the viral video circulating on social media involving a police officer who evaded and fled from a Land Transportation Office (LTO) checkpoint after being flagged down for a visible traffic violation.

PRO 9 does not condone nor tolerate any act committed by its personnel that violates the law or shows disrespect toward fellow law enforcers. Such behavior is unacceptable and runs contrary to the core values of professionalism, accountability, and integrity that the organization upholds.

The police officer involved has already been identified, and a thorough and impartial investigation is currently underway. Appropriate administrative and, if warranted, criminal charges will be filed in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

We assure the public that all PRO 9 personnel are consistently reminded that obedience to the rule of law is paramount and that no one is above it, regardless of rank or position.

PRO 9 remains committed to transparency and accountability. We encourage the public to continue reporting any incidents involving violations of the law or abuse of authority by any of our personnel so that immediate and proper action may be taken.

We reaffirm our steadfast commitment to maintaining public trust and upholding the highest standards of service.
