On 06 July 2026, upon the invitation of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Dipaculao, personnel of Coast Guard Air Station Aurora attended the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026 Kick-Off Ceremony held at the Municipal Grounds, Dipaculao, Aurora.

With this year’s theme, “Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas,” the event formally launched the month-long observance dedicated to promoting disaster preparedness, community resilience, and effective emergency response.

The ceremony underscored the importance of collaboration among national government agencies, local government units, uniformed services, and community stakeholders in building a safer and more resilient nation.

Air Station Aurora joins RTC Aurora in honoring CGNOC “MALAKSUG SARIGMAT” Class 119‑2026 during their Pre‑Recognition Ceremony in Dipaculao, Aurora.

Representing the Air Station Commander, CDR PAUL YVES D. CACANINDIN PCG, the newly aboard Duty Officer, LT GERALD CEASAR PERDON PCG, served as Guest of Honor and Speaker. Meanwhile, during the message of the RTCA Director CDR GERIEL D CABACUNGAN PCG also expressed pride in their trainees’ discipline and commitment.

May they continue to embody Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty.

As part of the transition process and in support of continued inter-agency cooperation, Incoming Duty Officer 𝗟𝗧 𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟𝗗 𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗔𝗥 𝗠 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗗𝗢𝗡 𝗣𝗖𝗚 and Outgoing Duty Officer 𝗘𝗡𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗢𝗥 𝗠 𝗪𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗟𝗔𝗢 𝗣𝗖𝗚 conducted a series of courtesy calls to key officials and community leaders in the Municipality of Dipaculao.

The delegation first paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Police of the Dipaculao Municipal Police Station 𝗣𝗠𝗔𝗝 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗢 𝗦 𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗢𝗭𝗔 𝗝𝗥., to reinforce collaboration and discuss matters concerning peace and order, as well as public safety within the community.

They likewise paid a courtesy call on Mayor 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗔. 𝗧𝗢𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗢, the Municipal Mayor of Dipaculao. Discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, ongoing local government initiatives, and opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the Coast Guard Air Station and the Municipal Government. Both parties expressed their commitment to continuing collaboration in support of community development, disaster response readiness, and public safety programs.

A courtesy call was also conducted with the Municipal Fire Marshal of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), 𝗦𝗙𝗢𝟰 𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗞 𝗗 𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗭𝗢𝗡𝗔. During the meeting, both parties explored avenues to enhance coordination and identify areas of mutual support in fulfilling their respective mandates.

In addition, the Duty Officers visited 𝗘𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔 𝗢. 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗬, the Barangay Captain of Mijares, Dipaculao, Aurora to reinforce collaboration at the community level. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss local concerns, ongoing programs, and future initiatives aimed at improving public services and fostering community development.

These courtesy calls highlight the commitment of both the outgoing and incoming Duty Officers to ensuring a smooth transition, maintaining operational continuity and strengthening partnerships with local government units and public safety agencies, particularly through sustained collaboration with the Municipal Government of Dipaculao.

PASAY, Philippines — The Coast Guard Aviation Command (CGAVCOM) celebrated its 28th Founding Anniversary on 19 May 2026 with a solemn and momentous ceremony that brought together officers, aviators, aircrew, and personnel from across the Command. The event was graced by the Commandant PCG, ADMIRAL RONNIE GIL L GAVAN PCG, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, underscoring the indispensable role of aviation in maritime safety, maritime security, and humanitarian assistance.

𝐀𝐢𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

During the ceremony, Air Station Aurora was conferred the COMMANDER, CGAVCOM SPECIAL AWARD OF RECOGNITION for its remarkable achievements over the past year. The Station was cited for its outstanding operational readiness, significant improvements in facilities and infrastructure, strengthened personnel development programs, and effective engagement with local stakeholders. This recognition affirms Air Station Aurora’s emergence as one of the most dynamic and high‑performing units under CGAVCOM.

Two Personnel from Air Station Aurora Honored with Top Individual Awards

Adding to the Station’s achievements, two of its personnel were honored with the Command’s highest individual distinctions:

The Commander, Air Station Aurora, was awarded OFFICER OF THE YEAR, for his exemplary leadership, strategic foresight, and exceptional performance across multiple command responsibilities. Serving concurrently as Commander, Air Station Aurora; Commander, Headquarters Support Group, CGAVCOM; and Staff for Operations of the Commander, CGAVCOM, he has been instrumental in elevating unit performance, operational discipline, and mission effectiveness.

PO2 Erwin Pastor, PCG, received the ENLISTED PERSONNEL OF THE YEAR award for his unwavering dedication, professionalism, and consistent display of mission excellence. His reliability and commitment to service have made him an indispensable member of the unit and a model for enlisted personnel.

The recognitions bestowed upon Air Station Aurora and its personnel reflect the Command’s enduring commitment to operational excellence and the Coast Guard’s core values of honor, respect, and devotion to duty. As CGAVCOM enters its 29th year, it continues to strengthen its capabilities and uphold its vital role in safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests.

For his part, the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗠 𝗝𝗢𝗛𝗡 𝗕. 𝑳𝑶𝑶𝑲: On 28 March to 05 April 2026, personnel of Coast Guard Air Station (CGAS) Aurora supported Byaheng Ayos: Semana Santa and Summer Vacation 2026 through intensified safety operations within their Area of Responsibility ensuring the safety and security of beachgoers during the peak summer season.

As part of the operation, AirSta Aurora deployed its Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) to conduct aerial monitoring of coastal areas. The UAS team provided an eye from the sky to the beaches of Sabang in Baler, Mijares Lobbot and Dinadiawan in Dipaculao. The drone provided real-time surveillance allowing personnel to effectively observe crowd density, identify potential hazards and enhance overall situational awareness along the shoreline. This initiative significantly strengthened the station’s capability to safeguard the public and respond promptly to any developing situation.

The operation was conducted in coordination with Coast Guard Station Aurora/Coast Guard Sub-Station Baler/ Coast Guard Sub-Station Dipaculao, MMDRMO Station, Tourism Assistance Center and other concerned agencies highlighting a unified effort to maintain safety and order in popular beach destinations. The visible presence and proactive measures of AirSta Aurora personnel contributed to building public confidence and ensuring a safe environment for all.

Certificates of commendation were presented by the Local Government Unit of Dipaculao through Municipal Mayor Danilo A. Tolentino during the culmination of the activity. On behalf of the Air Station, 𝗘𝗡𝗦 𝗪𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗟𝗔𝗢 𝗣𝗖𝗚 accepted the certificate as a testament to their unwavering commitment to protecting and serving the maritime environment.
