The Department of Trade and Industry – Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Office (DTI-ZSPO), through its Business Development Division (BDD), conducted a Simple Bookkeeping Training at the Provincial Capitol in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, attended by 25 employees from the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Local Government Unit (ZS-PLGU) and the Local Government Unit of Ipil.

The training aimed to enhance participants' knowledge and skills in basic bookkeeping principles, emphasizing the importance of accurate financial record-keeping for effective financial management and informed decision-making.

The session was facilitated by Negosyo Center Business Counselors (NCBCs) Manilyn Fuerzas and Dinah Hasim, who guided the participants through practical bookkeeping concepts and exercises.

Through capacity-building initiatives like this, DTI-ZSP continues to strengthen financial literacy and promote sound business and financial management practices among its stakeholders and partner institutions.

On June 9, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry – Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Office (DTI-ZSPO), through its Consumer Protection Division (CPD), participated in a radio guesting at XFM-Ipil to discuss the provisions of Republic Act No. 10175, otherwise known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, with emphasis on online shopping fraud prevention.

The discussion highlighted practical tips on how consumers can protect themselves from online scams, identify legitimate sellers, safeguard personal information, and exercise vigilance when conducting online transactions.

Through this initiative, DTI-ZSP continues to strengthen consumer awareness and promote responsible digital commerce by empowering the public with knowledge that helps ensure safer and more secure online shopping experiences.
